Hunger Games Roleplay discussion

Here is where you can create a rebel character, anyone from someone working high up in the technology of District 13 from someone being trained to be a Hunger Games kamikaze (*cough cough* Isadora-) to someone infiltrating a training Academy (*cough cough* Irene), or even someone who is building a small ragtag group of rebel thieves after being dispatched by D13 in the veins of the city of D11, to just a simple soldier in the ranks of D13, or literally anything else that your imagination can cook up, as long as they are an agent/member of D13. Don't worry -- your rebels will be important in the plot!

Aelia has a striking reseblence to her father. it's a fact that many people shove in her face. Aelia only wears her unifrom and nothing else. She often has shadows under her eyes. She has perfect posture and has the aura of a leader. She is confident without being cocky and powerful without even trying. Aelia has the presense of a leader. It demands to be obeyed, calls to be listened, and is confident of it's place. Aelia keeps her hair up in a tight and perfect ponytail. Her appearance rarely changes as she always is planning to attack or defend the Capitol. She has colbalt eyes and they always are darting around taking everything in at once. She has a sharp nose and a pointed chin. Her hair, in a ponytail, fell just above her thighs and straight as a ruler. Aelia hadn't cut her hair ever since she was elected into her position. She never had the time. Aelia does have a streak of blonde hair that she dyed a few years back. It is the only bit of effort she puts into her appearance. She never bothers to hide the shadows under her eyes and people have long stopped asking because they're so used to it. Personality:(view spoiler)[ Aelia has yet to let anyone to see her true self. She probelm with her is that she puts on a mask. One mask for this person, one for another. it gets to the point where no one knows who the real Aelia is. She doesn't even go by Aelia. She goes by the Eagle. or Eagle. She's never told anyone her true name and eventually, everyone stopped asking and just referred to her as that. Aelia doesn't have multiple personality disorder because she doesn't have multiple personalities, she just has so many masks and so many idfferent ways to talk to people. She's very seious and has a desire to keep pushing herself to her limits. She has an urge to be challenged. Aelia is clever and has good intuition which proves useful as she has to lead the rebels to defeat the Capitol. She's not only clever and smart but also wise t the same time. She loves to read philosphy books, math textbooks, any books in general. She enjoys reading to an extreme extent and there is a rumor that she lives in the lirbary more than she stays in her own room. She dedicated her life to protecting the rebels and is determinded to be able to prove to everyone that she is the exact warrior her mother was. Childhood: (view spoiler)[ Aelia's childhood was full of struggles. Her father had turned out to be a traitor to District 13 but her mother was the leader. it didn't help of the fact that Aelia looks exactly like her father. She endured whispers her entire childhood because of it. Her mother was her hero. Even though her mother was less athletic than she was, her mother's greatest weapon was her words and her mind while her father's had been his body. Aelia was determined to master both. She was amazed by her mother's intellect and how she mastered her Council/advisors whenever they disagreed. However, her mother demanded and required much more from Aelia than anyone else. This wasn't your typical story though of a demanding parent doing it out of love with a rebellious child. Aelia fulfilled everything and more of what her mother required. Aelia understood that to be able to gain the trust of District 13 and make them see her as who she was. Because of this, even though she was young she traine harder than even some of the teenagers. Aelia was fierce in her training. Even though she was young and inexperinced, her gut instinct or her intuition proved invaluable when she helped her mother at age 7. Aelia felt so much pride and happiness when she helped. From that day onward, Aelia was finally accepted and her mother trained her harder. She also learned that she loved, and was exceptionally good at chess. Her favorite peice was the knight or the pawn. Her mother had given her a strange look when she said this and asked why. Aelia had liked the knight because it could reach things that no other piece could stop it. The pawn was a strange favorite though and many people didn't understand. Aelia liked that the pawn could become anything and it was often overlooked until the end to use as a last resort. Pawns could be anything. A whole line of potential that most people didn't care about. Aelia didn't like checkers as much however. Too simple was her logic. Aelia needed to be challenged. She didn't beleiving in living life easy. She needed a challenge and loved it when she could solve something because when she could it gave her a more satisfying win. (hide spoiler)]

Teenage Years: (view spoiler)[ As Aelia grew up to he a teenager, so did her reputation. Not only was her mind growing to surpass even her mother's but also her physical abilities were going far beyond what they had ever seen. Aelia learned and then started teaching herself from the Hunger Games. Every tribute's move and counter move was copied, learned, and applied by Aelia. All this training didn't come without a price though. Aelia often had shadows under her eyes and they only continued to worsen as she grew up. She'd recieved options of dating, romance and such things like that, but Aelia had no intrest. She needed to improve herself was always her reasoning. She never was satisfied with herself and always critisized herself. She wasn't those kind of people that said they weren't good to hear praise from other people. Aelia geinuenly beleived that she wasn't skilled enough or good at anything. She knew she was better than most people but she never compared herself to others. She compared herself to her own expectations, and throughout her life, she never managed to satisfy herself. it drove her to the point of insanity until her mother convinced her to fight another person and Aelia realized that she would always push herself and always expect something more of herself but it didn't mean she had to beat herself up. Then, when Aelia was 18, her mother was killed. Her mother had been gathering things outside when a Capitol solider found her. Unable to preform any sort of physical fighting, her mother had committed suicide to protect the rebels. Aelia watched the replay from one of the District 13 cameras and felt fury that her mother was dead but also shame. it was a strange feeling to associate with her mother but she felt shame that her mother hadn't died a warrior's death and that her mother hadn't died fighting. Aelia vowed that if she were to die before she liberated Panem from the Capitol, she would go down fighting till the end. When the voting had been made to select the new leader, Aelia was voted in unanimously. Aelia had considered turning it down but knew she could lead the rebels to victory. She knew she had the capabilities to do it. So, at 18 years of age, the youngest leader of District 13 to date, Aelia accepted. Aelia was determined to do the best she could for the people that had put their faith into her (hide spoiler)]

Adult Years: (view spoiler)[ Even though Aelia was young, she had to fit into her role< quickly. She, once again, managed to surpass all expectations. However, Aelia devolped Empathy as she grew up but only in bad feelings. Whenever District 13 lost a soilder no matter what win, Aelia felt guilty. She could feel the soilders as they died and the pain of their families was touchable. She overcame this challenge though by making sure she was immine to this sort of thing. it wasn't easy for her but she had no other choice. Aelia learned that leading as much harder than it sounded or looked. She was responsible for every citizen's lives and she would not squander this. Aelia learned to put herself last. It wasn't that she had put herself at highest priorety, she just had always kept to herself and made choices to help herself. Now she had to make choice that were beneficial to her District. As she matured, Aelia learned how to make her masks. She had a different one for every person since every person was different. Every different human being needed to be treated differently and Aelia provided that. However, it came at another cost. No one knew how to talk to Aelia because no one ever understood her since no one knew how they acted. Flattery, barbed comments, trying to rile her up, nothing ever worked on Aelia. The problem was that she thought about the district. If and only if their idea was helpful to the community as a majortiy would she allow it. There was no other way around it and Aelia didn't play favorites. Her people quickly learned to respect her for this and Aelia was learning to get better at it when her father returned. He was escaping the Capitol. The District called for his death but the some wanted mercy. After all, weren't they supposed to be better than the Capitol? In the end, it was the safety of her people that Aelia considered to make her choice. She couldn't risk a past spy in the presense of her people. She had her father executed. Aelia was bed ridden for 3 days sobbing as the weight of her title fully hitting her. On the 4rth day, Aelia went through her day as usual as a new way to decide formed in her. For the Rebels. Mother: (view spoiler)[Aelia had a very close connection with her mother and gave her mother the credit whenever someone would compliment her because in Aelia's mind, her mother was the reason she was where she was. Her mother had pushed her to be more than what other people expected and her mother had helped Aelia prove to everyone else she was different from her father. Aelia adored her mother in every way but she didn't hold her mother to an inhuman standard. She held no one up that way. Everyone would die one way or another and Aelia was hit with that the day her mother was gone. Aelia didn't even have tears to shed over her mother's death nor did she get her mother's body. They body was burned to ashes but luckily she was able to convince the people to let her be able to make a diamond out of the ashes. Aelia wasn't given the time to mourn for her mother's death even after that because she was elected to be President. She values every pearl of information and every gold nugget of advice her mother ever gave to her and there isn't a day that goes by where Aelia misses her mother. (hide spoiler)]

Father: (view spoiler)[Her father on the other hand was a man that Aelia grew up hated. He was the reason she was shunned. He was the reason she was so distrusted. Aelia hated that she looked so similar to her father and hated him for leaving her and betraying the rebels. Growing up, Aelia would invent visons of getting her revenge on her father or how luxiourious his life must have been in the capitol. Whenever she was punching a bag, she would pretend it was her father. There were no words that could describe how much pain he had caused Aelia and Aelia knew it. However, when she had become President, the day her father came back, her hatred dissolved. She still remembered fondly the few memories she had with her father that were good. The same man that stood before her was the man that had made her go through hell. Aelia sentenced her father to death but it wasn't out of malice. She was crushed that she had to be the reason her father died and felt like she'd committed a crime even though most of the people in District 13 were grateful for her. ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪: She's the human form of determination and strength, she's an intelligant and rightous person who can tell right from wrong. She understands that sometimes rebellion is your only option, and that true strength is overcoming your fears instead of not having any at all. She's a good friend and a good ally. She can get pretty angry or emotional sometimes and that can lead to problems, but it depends on the situation.

ℍ𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪:
She was born on a hidden island, far away from society. It was a fairly safe place, at least on the right half of the island. The “Left side.” as they called it, was a dangerous place. Anyone who went in there never came back, and she was told not to go anywhere near there. Her biological parents (who are now dead) were less of her parents and more of her caretakers. They didn’t show love or affection, but they took care of her and kept her safe. One day when she was 4, she decided to venture out onto the left side of the island. She had gotten sick of being confined to the right side of the island, she was a curious child who wanted to explore. She traveled through the forest until she reached the fence that separated the sides. She climbed over the fence and headed along the beach, finally reaching a small house a few feet into the forest. She walked over to the house and entered it, it was dusty and there were cobwebs everywhere as though no one had been in there in a century. She looked around the house, almost nothing was there. It was getting late and Estella’s parents were going to get worried. Then something stopped her from leaving, something filled her with an indescribable terror so bad that she nearly fainted. It was a monster that looked like a human, she could tell. It smiled at her and said “what are you doing out so late little girl?” She didn’t say anything, still frozen with fear. It frowned and shoved her out of the way, at this point she had gathered her thoughts enough to have an escape plan. She prepared herself and was about to put her plan into action before the person grabbed her as if it knew what she was thinking. It was about to say something but then it saw Estella’s parents running towards her and it slunk away into the shadows. Her parents gave her a very angry talk and grounded her for a month, she gladly did what they told her and didn’t look back. Then when she was five years old, her parents were out of the house doing something and the thing snuck into her house. She was up in her room drawing when it came into her room, it looked bloodthirsty and angry. She screamed but no one could hear her, it had attacked her and scratched across the chest which would leave a permanent scar. She ran out of the house, not stopping to look back because she knew that the thing was following her and that if she looked back it would murder her. She vaulted over the fence and ran across the beach, she couldn't see her parent’s anywhere. She was all alone, running from the thing. She reached a spot on the beach where she hadn’t been before. In the distance there was a dock with two figures on it, she sprinted towards the dock. Her parents were there at the dock, bloody and bruised but alive. She ran towards them, they had a look of fear on their faces. They didn’t even bother to explain, they just shoved her in a boat and told her to leave. She tried to protest but her parents wouldn’t budge, she paddled the boat away. Her parents waiting for the thing to catch up to them, she begged for them to come with her. They were about to come with her but the thing had finally caught up to them. Her parents last words were “Go!” as they shoved the boat away from the dock. She paddled away as fast as she could, honoring their last wishes. A few days later she drifted onto the shore of society. At this point she was very weak and wouldn’t have lasted another day, but someone found her and brought her to an orphanage. She was a very intelligent child and could see all the bloodshed and injustice people faced here. She promised herself that she would help save these people one way or another, she couldn’t focus on the past. She would keep moving forward through struggle and pain. She stayed at the orphanage until she was 9. She finally had taken all she could of the orphanage, she escaped and roamed the streets for a year until she bumped into Ayrica and Alex when they were lost. They took her to their aunts, who had already adopted several children. She lived a fairly normal life after that, she would never allow herself to forget her promise though. Ayrica came to join her at her adoptive parents house, Alex and her father had died so she had no one left except her cousins and her aunts. When she was 15 she got into a fight with someone randomly on the street, she refused to tell anyone why she had picked a fight with that certain person. She joined the rebellion when she was 17, she simply couldn’t wait any longer to fulfil her promise to save others from a miserable future. When Ayrica got reaped she was so angry that she accidentally broke her door. Now she’s here, her life is sure to have many more problems and heartache but she’s never going to forget her promise.

Currently experiencing life at a rate of several WTFs per hour.

History: Nikita doesn’t remember much of her past, but maybe that’s for the best. Most of it has smeared into a blur and she’s fine with it. No use mourning the past when you can’t change it. And, trust me, she’s tried. But there’s this thing called Time which refuses to be unwound. Despite the countless people who have tried, the clock can never be turned back.
- Before Niki was born, her mother, Neilina Ajani, had relationship after relationship. Then, one time they went too far. And so Niki was born to an unmarried mother of seventeen, in the slums of one of the poorest Districts, 12. Though her mother cared for her, the girl never saw her father. But maybe that was for the best. You see, Niki wasn’t necessarily a... normal child. But hey, who wasn’t? Despite being so young, Neilina never abandoned her daughter and loved her deeply. While so many new moms would move on, leaving their babies to death, she stayed put. Niki has always thanked her for that.
- But all good things come to a bitter end. A year or so after Nikita was born, the names were drawn for the next Hunger Games. Neilina Ajani. Though Niki was too young to understand, many tears were shed by both parties. And so Neilina left. She never came back... To this day, Niki remebers almost nothing about her life before except one thing: Her mother softly humming a forgotten lullaby to her. And then she was gone.
- After, Niki grew up bouncing from home to home, never staying in one place too long. Not only was caring for another child too costly for already poor families barely scraping by, but her problem added another level of difficulty. Oh wait. I haven’t told you what it is yet, have I? Well, ever since birth, Nikita has been blind. Complete with the signature blind-white eyes, she’s marked for life as one who needs “accommodations.” As if. When given the chance and opportunities, Niki can and will surpass much of the student body. Sadly, she’s not often given that chance.
- Even to this day, Nikita has never seen or heard from her supposed dad. Honestly, she’s fine with it though. The less important people in her life, the less for her to lose. She just rolls with it. Niki doesn’t even know or remember much about her mother, either. Besides the song, there’s nothing else but what others tell her. And what they say isn’t always PG-13... Still, Nikita knows Neilina Ajani went down fighting, and that’s good enough for her.
- Sometime in her pre-teen years, Niki fell out of the system. Somewhere between one house and another, the was put aside and forgotten. Nobody wanted to take in the “useless blind girl.” If she fell in a hole and died, that was her problem. But secretly, Nikita was glad she made it out. Everybody had treated her like a toddler because of her situation. But now that she was free? Ohhhhh, things were so much different. Free. She was free. But only partway. There was still the dreaded Games every year. Nobody could escape from its reach. All had suffered. There was no freedom in the broadest sense. And that was enough to spark a want for change. And... Well, I guess I’ll let you fill in the rest.

ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪: Warning: He most definitely will make sarcastic remarks, proceed with caution. He’s an introverted, sarcastic, hacker. He’s also very smart and will always be there for you if you manage to earn his trust. It's hard to earn his trust, and if he trusts you completely then that means you are a very special person. He’s a dangerous opponent and a helpful ally, you want to have him on your side. His skills with technology and math are irreplaceable, he might even find a way to create a time machine if he worked hard on it. And therein lies his flaws, he can’t put 100% into anything or anyone he doesn’t trust or care about completely (which is very hard to get him to do.) He’s a bit insecure about himself, he doesn’t think that he’s good enough but he doesn’t like anyone… it's a weird mix.(Estella sort of adopted him, he didn’t choose to become friends with her.) He dislikes it when people say that they are smarter than him, but he puts up with it because he doesn’t want to be noticed too much and just be himself in peace. He doesn’t overthink things unless overthinking is necessary. He is better at gaming then socializing, sarcasm and a cold demeanor are his defences against extroverts (unfortunately for him, Estella never gives up.) During a fight, his best chances of winning are using his intelligence to outsmart them or to find their weak spot. He doesn’t show it, but he’s a far more emotional person than you think. (He’s eventually going to show his emotions and let them flow out and become a much more friendly person, I’ll update him when that happens.)

𝕊𝕜𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕤: You can easily underestimate this small boy, but he’s actually a serious threat. He’s basically a genius and is actually very fast, plus he knows a lot about technology and how it works.

𝕎𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕤: He never puts any effort into things, he sort of just exists to give sarcastic comments, Do stuff with the internet, and Give only 20% of his energy. He also doesn’t really care about what happens, it's sort of like he’s detached from the world. Also he has Technophilia, “Technophilia generally refers to a strong enthusiasm for technology”.

ℍ𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪: He was 1 year old when his mother died, she had gotten cancer and his family didn’t have the money to treat it. His father had trouble adjusting to a life without her and eventually had to give his children up for adoption because he simply couldn’t handle taking care of them. He was separated from his siblings and taken to a nasty adoption center. For years he stayed there, slowly going insane from all the insanitary conditions and the brutal punishments from the caretakers. He still has the scars and bruises from his experience there. He grew weak and didn’t grow very much due to the unclean environment and the food which was basically just raw potatoes. When Estella came along he had already been there for 5 or 6 years. Estella quickly became his friend, despite his best efforts to push her away. When Estella came up with a plan to get away from the orphanage, he eagerly agreed and helped her put her plan into motion. He got caught on the way out, but Estella escaped and came back for him the next day. The two separated so that they wouldn’t be able to be tracked by the caretakers. He spent the next two years of his life completely rogue, living off what he could find in the wilderness. No one even noticed the small boy’s suffering. One day someone finally noticed him, it was a famous hacker. The hacker took him under their wing and taught him all about technology and math. He had been adopted by a nice person as well. As it turned out he was a genius, he hadn’t ever been in school before so no one had noticed how smart he was. He became a hacker, an even better hacker than his teacher. The small boy had finally found his safe place, that he could take with him wherever he went. However it would have been better for his mental health if he hadn’t become a hacker, his decision would ultimately haunt him throughout his life. He began to lose himself to the internet, he would hide his phone during class and play games on it when his teachers weren’t looking. He was constantly doing something online, and you couldn’t tear him away from it. If you did manage to stop him from being online all the time he would either simply do nothing at all and not even move or get annoyed. He found Estella again and she noticed the changes in him, when he was 14 she got into a fight with him and smashed his phone. This woke him up and even though Estella was no longer his friend at this point, he was still grateful. He began to go back to the real world, but this was a bad decision as well. He hid his intelligence to make sure no one noticed him and that he didn’t stand out, but found himself being picked on by the kids in his class. At one point the bullying got so bad that he couldn’t stand it anymore. He almost committed suicie but thankfully his mentor found him and stopped him from killing himself. He shrunk away from society and decided that he wasn’t going to mess this up again and that he was going to become a better hacker. He succeeded where he had failed before and managed to find a way to make it work for him. (And yes, I realize that this is kind of confusing with all this ‘game addiction’ stuff so I’m going to explain it a bit more. Basically, he grew too comfortable with the internet and began to stay up way too late to play games. He eventually couldn’t be torn away from his screen. He wasn’t even hacking or anything, he was just addicted to the internet. As I’m sure you can tell, this was terrible for his mental health. When he went back to reality, he saw that neither place was right for him so he decided to make a place in between for himself.) A couple years have passed and he’s finally found the right balance. He’s still introverted and sarcastic but nothing can be done about that, Estella reconnected with him a year ago and she finally convinced him to join the rebellion. He’s going to start off as a spy and eventually become the head of technology.
