A L SO. THE PRIORY OF THE ORANGE TREE AND THE SINGING HILLS CYCLE ARE SO GOOD FGKJKJGGKHAGKHGDJHG
Some of my recs are The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar, Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens by Tanya Boteju, Heartstopper by Alice Oseman, Pulp by Robin Talley, Hey Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins, and We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
honestly anything alice oseman i will be utterly in love with but i really loved loveless and radio silence (i still havent read solitaire and i was born for this which is tragic for meeee)
Y'all I read the synopsis for We Are Totally Normal and it sounded so good. Then I read the reviews and got disappointed cause everyone says it's really problematic? It sounded like a good plot and the cover is cute too. So now I don't know whether to go through with reading it or not :(

I say read it and if it's awful, finish it just for kicks or dnf it. idk it looks kind of. really very problematic
personally, i probably wouldnt read this, but also i read a bunch of books that i KNOW are going to be awful (i do not know why its so painful for my brain)

hi :)i was wondering if anyone had read/heard of any queer books that aren’t “obviously queer” or “queer looking”
(specifically contemporaries but i’m up for anything)
since it’s coming up to the holidays and i don’t really live in a household where i can be bringing home/receiving lgbtq+ books as gifts (still not up for reading straight romances lol) im just asking around for any recommendations i can get

totally valid! sorry for my late ass reply, i hope it can still be helpful to you. it really depends what level of obviousness is okay for you— whether queer things can be mentioned in the synopsis or in reviews on the back cover, etc. however, playing it as safe as i can, here are some recs:
- not my problem by ciara smyth
- we are okay by nina lacour
- wild beauty by anna-marie mclemore
- take a hint, dani brown by talia hibbert
- spinning by tillie walden
- the disasters by m.k. england
- radio silence by alice oseman
- crownchasers by rebecca coffindaffer
- summer bird blue by akemi dawn bowman
- under shifting stars by alexandra latos
- malice by heather walter
- our year of maybe by rachel lynn solomon
- clap when you land by elizabeth acevedo
- the magic fish by trung le nguyen
- i’ll give you the sun by jandy nelson
- i’ll be the one by lyla lee
- the invisible life of addie larue by v.e. schwab
- phoenix extravagant by yoon ha lee
- iron widow by xiran jay zhao
- dark & deepest red by anna-marie mclemore
that’s all i can think of off the top of my head. hopefully some of these will work out for you and i’m not too late for any relevance!
