Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I have come to realize that 2015 is going to be a year of rereading books for me. There are several series which I love and am forgetting the details of why I love them so much. With that in mind, I have chosen to reread them this year to stay in touch with some of my favorite characters and tales. I have started with Michael Scott's The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series.

The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1) by Michael Scott The Magician (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #2) by Michael Scott The Sorceress (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #3) by Michael Scott The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #4) by Michael Scott The Warlock (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #5) by Michael Scott The Enchantress (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #6) by Michael Scott

I started reading The Alchemyst when the second in the series came out and then put it aside, waiting for the rest of the series. Someday soon I will read the series. lol. I have a few books I need/want to re-read, such as the Mortal Instruments series so I can finish it. I definitely need to re-read books 1-3 because now I have to read 4-6! But I think I might want to read Infernal Devices first so I have to re-read book 1 to read 2 and 3. lol!

I'm a huge fan of The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. I definitely enjoy TID more though. I am actually making my way through Clockwork Angel right now. I've been listening to the Michael Scott books while I crochet and actually reading Clockwork Angel, so it's taking me longer. All 3 series are wonderful though and you won't be disappointed when you do read them!

Karol I love the idea of re-reading some favorites. Sounds like a great year ahead for you, Elizabeth.

Meghan (meghanly) I started reading The Alchemyst but somehow lost interest (maybe lost the book?) and never picked it up again. Maybe I will give it another go?

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I read The Selection series for the first time and had to force myself to put them down to go to work or sleep at night. More than once I was very frustrated with the main character and had to remind myself that she was a teenager and would therefore not likely be very self aware. The series itself was a little predictable, but it did surprise me more than once. I found myself frequently laughing out loud at the main character. The ending to the trilogy felt a little too fairytale-ish to me, thus ruining the sense of "this could potentially happen".

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I do believe this is one time in which I prefer the movie adaptation to the book. I don't know that I can even say exactly why that is. I think that, for lack of a better explanation, the movie produced a better show than the book.

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) The second series I am rereading this year is The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. I have read the first two books in this trilogy 2 or 3 times, but I have only read the third book once. I am planning to read this trilogy and continue on through The Mortal Instruments. I have read all of those books already, but the last book only once. I love the Shadowhunter's world and find these books incredibly entertaining.

I really enjoyed this series! And hey, it's not done... Lol. What started as a trilogy is now morphing into a 4 or 5 book series.

Loved the movie and the book! I saw the movie before reading the book so I'm a little more partial to the movie.

I wasn't aware that The Selection series was being continued! I'm excited to hear that and look forward to reading what comes next!

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I just finished Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy and have mixed feelings about it. I will try to explain the conflicting emotions without giving too much away. First off, I love the idea behind the series. The idea that love is an illness and people have tried to eradicate love to simplify their lives is an intriguing one. I was absolutely hooked until the end of the first book. And then I was so ticked off I almost didn't continue with the second book. But, I don't like to start a series and not finish it, so I continued. I also had a feeling that circumstances would change and I wouldn't be so ticked later on. Suffice it to say, my frustration with the series came and went as things changed and then did once again and then again before the end. It was a roller coaster journey through the three books, but ultimately, I enjoyed the trip. I felt the ending to book three was a little open-ended, but I think that was intentional. Perhaps the author was leaving things open to another book? Or maybe she just wanted us to form our own conclusions?

I loved books 1 and 2 but book 3 was such a severe letdown. :(

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I haven't been able to get online from a computer in quite some time, so I haven't updated my reading list on here. I have kept reading, though not like I would like to.

I read Shiver and Linger by Maggie Stiefvater, but I am yet to finish the trilogy. At this point, I may have to reread these two to read the third.

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater

After those I read Graceling by Kristin Cashore and absolutely loved it! I couldn't wait to finish this book and move on to the next one (Fire). That is, until I actually got to the next one and discovered it surrounds different people and places and I have so far made two attempts at reading it and failed. Perhaps the third time will be the charm?

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) From there I moved on to the Quantum Trilogy by M.S. Force which was a quick, but enjoyable read. It's the same genre as 50 Shades, but in my opinion, better written and more realistic.

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I did my annual reread of the Harry Potter series next and was once again amazed at the details I had forgotten. No matter how well I think I know the series, there always seems to be something that surprises me when I reread them.

Harry Potter Boxset (Harry Potter, #1-7) by J.K. Rowling

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I reread the Losing It trilogy by Cora Carmack and found it just as entertaining as the first read. I seriously recommend this trilogy to women who like to read about realistic women. The women in these books think (worry, stress over everything, panic about stupid stuff they say, etc.) like we all do and it's refreshing to encounter and extremely amusing.

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I admit it, I did read Grey. I have read the Fifty Shades trilogy and was very curious to see things from Christian's point of view. I actually enjoyed this more than the original trilogy and felt it was better written.

Grey (Fifty Shades, #4) by E.L. James

Elizabeth Griffith (lizkat01) I just finished The Heir by Kiera Cass and I have to admit, I was let down a bit by the ending. I think this is the last of the series and it ended without finishing the story, which always annoys me. I still loved the book and will undoubtedly reread the entire Selection series because it was wonderful.

There is another book coming out next May in the Selection series. I kind of just want it to end already. Kiera Cass is really dragging this series out. I'm on the holds list at the library for The Heir.
