(Thought I'd kick off a new topic for everyone who loves this.)

so, 50 pages in, and enjoying every word. I am a sucker for "lost history" and secret origins.

Not sold on the footnotes, though. Maybe it's because I'm reading on a kindle and it's just clunky - seriously it's 2015 we can't format ebooks with footnotes on the same page? Something like American Gods shows that you can info-dump side stories without needing to force it into the narrative. Going to try to not let the mechanics hold me back.

Thanks for starting the discussion! This has been sitting on my bookshelf for about a year now. I got a used hardcover for cheap at a book sale. Maybe this will motivate me to finally read it and participate. I'll try to join as soon as possible (there are a few books on my to-read list that I need to go through before they're due at the library).
