My Google Sheets Weekend Read-a-thon Tracker

Have plenty of coffee and should have it fine before the read-a-thon - also the same with my "tea cabinet" - will replenish staples like sodas, milk, coffee creamer, chips, salad ingredients I like to always have around the house. Also want to make my Raisin bread to freeze but this may not be in time for or relevant to the read-a-thon. I always get cheese, crackers, and chocolates for the read-a-thon. Still not sure what I'll do for dinner but it may just be a full snack-around day with all this food sampling in small doses anyway. I also want to treat myself out to a lunch and the local coffee shop for a bagel, so I'm not seeing food as being any kind of issue at all!
I am not only making these for Read-a-thons, but company in May so some of this will be frozen for later, but have time to make and test some of these new recipes now this week before the read-a-thon. Some will be remade for the read-a-thon if I like it well enough, it's more of a sampling week since I have time to pre-make, shop, cook, and freeze and it's going to be even busier for me after the read-a-thon. Forgive the large volume but hopefully I find some keeper recipes.
Ingredients purchasing for:
From Website, Adapted from Zingerman's Bakehouse Cookbook
Once Upon a Chef Website, adapted from King Arthur's Flour
These are KEEPERS. We all loved them. Planning to make more for company as these are almost out. Frozen the rest for the read-a-thon.
Once Upon a Chef Website, adaption from Cook's Illustrated
Made Thursday night - very yummy! My mom especially adored them.
Food Network
These are decent, but definitely not the best or even close. They are small and nothing special, so won't be remaking these.
Once Upon a Chef
Made Thursday - will be a great, light snack for Saturday

I prefer shorter, easier audiobooks for Read-a-thon day and always use to wake up and usually first few hours since I am not a big morning reader or morning person. Also used during walks, cleaning, projects, and driving to destinations, or doing computer updates.
One is a children's middle grade by Christopher Pike, easy read at 2 hours
One is a short story by Josh Malerman at under an hour and a half
The last is over 6 hours and is highly recommended creepy story

FINAL TBR LIST - still in progress, will keep adding/adjusting until Friday night. Any books finished by then will be removed from below list. I will pick whatever based on mood, not this full list of course!

Since sometimes hot baths make me sleepy, I will do this earlier in the day in case I want an afternoon read-a-thon nap

1 - Starbucks Coffee Shop for everything bagel and summer fruit drink on outdoor patio - timing depends on weather (heat!)

Sour Cream Coffee Cake with Cinnamon-Walnut Swirl
https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes...
I love cinnamon and the walnuts look delicious. I need to get the ingredients for this. Will post pictures if I end up making it, hopefully within the next few days.
I have plans to go to friend's for swimming on Saturday, but otherwise have time for cleaning, shopping, and cooking this weekend and next week.
I need to make several homemade breads before my aunt and uncle come down, and it's perfect time to do in time for read-a-thon as well, especially the cinnamon raisin bread. Yes, bread is sadly fattening, but it's pretty for company and special ocassions.

And on the plus side, I got in my new tea light Teapot warmer to keep teapots warm, which should come in handy during the read-a-thon as well.

Thank you, Elyse! I'm hoping to continue to have fun with it. :)

Made on 4-15
Bacon Cornbread muffins - these were edible but no one was really crazy about them, threw away rest
Mini Red Potato Skins - these were good, mini potato skins, froze the rest for read-a-thon snacks
Hashbrown Casserole - Everyone loved these, froze a portion for the read-a-thon
Green Beans wrapped in bacon - These were edible but no one was crazy about them, won't be making again

The Banana Nut Muffins were good, but not fantastic or delicious, so I won't be keeping these as a recipe to make more of in the future
The Apple Harvest ones though? Truly excellent, everyone has loved them. The batch only made 12, and most are gone. I have some frozen for read-a-thon day. I plan to make more of these to freeze for when company arrives. I need to buy 3 more apples to get this done, thankfully I still have all the ingredients for more.
I haven't tried the Oat ones --- I need to get things sorted with my food processor and haven't had the time to mess with it.

Oh I hate it! It's awful! I'm so sorry you're being forced to use it!

It IS awful, as it the new book pages rolling out on Amazon that makes the search feature almost impossible for reading challenges.

Everyone keeps trying to make plans with me Saturday and I keep telling them, sorry, read-a-thon day :D
I'm at the point where in one way I'm anxious for it to get here, and in another way I still have a lot to do this week so it's flying by. At least it's a FUN busy week. My friend and I are going to do our first Echo Show live call yoga session after work today, so that's also something to look forward to.

Thank you. I have this weird hobby of decorating/organizing online threads and spreadsheets. Plus it makes waiting for the read-a-thon to get here easier :)

I don't like the new book page either. The only thing I like is that the cover is larger. I haven't had the new Amazon book page...yet.

Yes, it's all a pain. Sometimes change is good, but they keep changing only for mobile users I guess, which is a pain if you don't only use on mobile.

I agree! I mostly use it on a computer because it has more features than the app. The desktop version on mobile is too tiny to try to read and I end up pushing the wrong button lol.

one is the bookmark craft, which is also on bingo. Think I'm going to do a tape bookmark craft for something easy and cute.

Just tomorrow left, have lots of random stuff to do, but work will at least be calmer.

Your tbr is looking great too. I'm not really into dragons, so I haven't read the Scales 'N Spells series, but I have enjoyed Sherwood's other books. Actually... I haven't read the latest Jon's mysteries book, so maybe I should add that to me readathon tbr. And I keep meaning to read that Kai Butler series. I like his gay regency romance in space books. lol
Ack, I always do this. I have a perfectly serviceable and manageable readathon stack, and then a day or two before the event I go manically add to it until it's out of control.

I haven't read Sherwood's other books besides Scales 'N Spells but I love this series -- lots of humor and quirkiness and each book has a completely different kind of MC, it's awesome
If you ever do read them let me know
Speaking of snacks, today is my last day to whip up some of the planned foods and about to start soon 0_0

I made the Quiche and at first I didn't think it turned out, but it solidified over the past 2 hours better. Still needs some tweaking but it was my first quiche and has a good flavor. I will hold back a little of the spinach next time, though.
Second, the Cinnamon Swirl coffee cake is crumbly but very good and all have enjoyed.
I had to go out for a bit, and got back later than I planned, so now plenty to do to wrap up readathon plans. Going to start charging the electronics, clean the kitchen, and get together some random items needed for tomorrow. I will keep checking back until bed but otherwise will see everyone tomorrow.

You too!! I *should* be in bed but have several things to do still. Argh. This pretty much always happens

Happy first hour and Read-a-thon, everyone! The first hour is wrapping up soon and swiftly
I could not fall asleep when I planned last night, but managed to get up by 745 for the read-a-thon which started at 8 am here EST.
As is usual for me, I start with a children's audiobook while doing computer updates on GR, Twitter, FB, Instagram.
This morning I:
🌎Posted Hour 1 Reading Prompt Challenge on Instagram here
🌎Posted opening survey on FB group
🌎Read the opening blogpost from the person hosting events this morning
🌎Checked in on Twitter with photo update and wave
🌎Answered questions in the Goodreads threads, and recommended some ambience videos here
Now, the important stuff:
Made Peet's Coffee a bit too weak this morning, but sipping on my second cup.
I'm not as crazy about this narrator as others I've heard with kid's books, but The Secret Path by Christopher Pike isn't bad --- listening to with Scribd subscription

Hope you have a fun readathon day!

Have a great readathon.

Thank you. I usually sleep in and start later as well but today wanted to start on time and nap later. Either way works by mood and schedule. Having fun so far and pretty awake now. Just took a small gaming break with the end of this audiobook, which really isn't that good but works for the purpose.

I know, it's already a busy morning - so many fun events going on. I'm thawing out hash brown casserole now, already hungry, and on 3rd cup of coffee, which was sadly brewed a bit weak. Just checked the Webkinz account with audio, haven't done any of the twitter parties yet. Already third hour and time is already flying by of course

My initial morning plans have changed, so right now I already started the short story, Decorum at the Deathbed, while still on computer.
🐦 I'm going to listen and participate in the Twitter hosted party at 11 am
I ate the casserole portion and it was delicious, glad I did not save a huge portion so it was not heavy.
Have not done stretching routine or morning walk as of yet, but soon.
📷 📷 Will be SKIPPING the Hour 4 Instagram prompt on building a reading fort -- too much work for me, I am not reading in a specific cleaned up spot right now, and don't have time to build something up on the bed (wondering on what supplies I'd find to do this), but will participate in others.

Did not do stretching or walk yet, but this would be a good idea after mini nap to wake me back up.

Just woke up from my nap and I feel great. I was able to lightly sleep and woke up recharged and rearing to go again. Listening to audio again while doing some updates on social media, then will go and read on the porch a bit, starting with

While the weather looked harsh today, it's actually pretty nice outside with some clouds and wind despite the 89 degree weather. Looks cozy on the porch, I'm sure the cats will come plop down on me soon since they're stretched out on the porch chairs right now.
A little caffiene helps me settle into books too. I drink tea, but stimulant. . . . Enjoy your readathon.
