Book ReportingArchchancellor Ridcully Spreadsheet
When reporting books to the spreadsheet please use hyperlink's if you can. If you're not familiar the code for a hyperlink would look like this...
=HYPERLINK("Goodreads Book Page Web Address","Book Title")
aka
=HYPERLINK("https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4..." , "The Looking Glass Wars") - ignore the spaces between quotes and commas GR wouldn't print it exactly
Shortcut if it's easier for you -- you can also follow these steps by clicking on Insert and scrolling down to Link...

or using Command K (on a Mac)
Please also remember to link to the edition of the book that you read. That will make things easier for Lynne, Samantha, and I when confirming page counts. They matter in this game, so please remember to report the page count of the edition you read. The only exception to this is for BOM's. The mods have already laid out which edition we'll all use for fairness sake.
Last please make sure your book is on your personal shelf before adding it to the completion page. We can't report anything completed until it's on your personal challenge shelf.

Hi everyone! Welcome to what I'm sure is going to be epic amounts of awesome Ridiculousness! We are Team Ridcully after all! Please take a few minutes to look around, introduce yourselves, let us all get to know each other as it looks like we've got a great diverse group this round. If you have any questions throw them out there so that hopefully myself and my lovely co-captains Lynne and Samantha can get them answered for you. While the start of things may not really kick off until May 1st that time is going to fly by, I know it. I've created a spreadsheet for everyone to report their books to rather than bogging down this thread. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing it or aren't exactly sure how to report your info. :) The link to the spreadsheet is in my first post on this thread. Anyway, the particulars out of the way...Hi! My name is Shelby and I shall be your Captain aboard this ridiculous floating turtle carried world. I myself have only read the first Discworld novel and am looking forward to correcting that mistake throughout this challenge. I am an actor/producer in Los Angeles which does mean my schedule is typically pretty unregulated. I'm all over the map time wise for my check-ins but I usually try to stop by at least once a day. Because I also bartend in between film gigs, often that can be really late at night in my timezone. But hey, that might be mid morning for some of you.
As far as reading goes, I'm one of those I'll read anything that comes my way sort of readers. Though I'll always have a soft spot for a good romance or fantasy novel. I love being taken away to other worlds. I've got a bunch of fun books planned coming up and figure I've got to save a couple of the chunkier ones for next month. All those pages definitely count in this challenge! Whether you're a book a day, or a book a month reader this is such a fun and exciting challenge to play as anything you read counts and helps us out as a team. Can't wait to get to know all of you over the next couple of months. Let the MAGIC begin! (I mean we are the greatest wizard in the land right...we're not dead yet. ;))
Hi team!My name is maria helena (I usually go by MH) and I'm in Europe. I used to live in the US for many years, but have been back home for a few years now.
I've only read one Discworld novel and it was probably for a previous TT or other challenge here. My go to genre is mysteries and I'm especially fond of anything Nordic and British, but occasionally I venture outside of my comfort zone for some historical fiction, nonfiction or romance.
I used to be a very fast reader and have participated in most of the TT rounds but I've been in what feels like a never-ending reading slump for over a year. I'm hoping that TT will help me get out of it. I've started a list of books that I'm looking forward to read so I'm ready when the challenge starts :)

Hey all!My name is Jillian but I mostly just go by JL. I am from Michigan. I love to read, mostly romance, but I read almost all sub-genres to romance. I tend to occasional read a mystery or horror here and there.
I have never read Discworld and honestly it doesn't sound like my cup of tea (sorry). I mainly joined this group and signed up for the challenge because my current challenge group that I am doing UNO with were all joining and said all I had to do was READ.
I do see that there are actually challenges to be met so I am very excited to get started.

Hi :)I'm Tea (no shorter nickname for me :P).
My shelf
I'll read almost anything (but nonfiction and horror) and been known to 'read it for the team'. Sadly my reading has dropped a lot (once my weekly number is now monthly if I'm lucky) so I'm little pickier these days. I'd love to say that I'm in reading slump because that would mean there is a chance to return to previous, but it's just case of RL seriously interrupting my reading.
I promise I'll do my best to stay on track and read as much as I can. Maybe not chunksters, they might take too long :P
I think I've read one Discworld for some challenge here once upon a time, but honestly I don't remember anything about it.
Hi everyone :) My name is Heather. I am from Scotland, but I live in the Netherlands. This is my first time taking part in TT.
I like to read a mixture of genres, I am not sure what my favourite would be. I have never read a Discworld book but I have been meaning to for a while now and I hope to pick up a few soon. I am looking forward to it and really excited to start this challenge.
Here is my shelf
Welcome everyone! :) It seems to be a trending theme that reading has fallen by the wayside a little bit during the pandemic! It's definitely true for me as well. In 2019 I read ~100 books (impressive feat for me, but I know lots of people in this group that read in the 200+ so I'm not kidding myself!) but last year I barely squeaked out 50!I think for me, I used to read a lot on my commute to work. I've just seemingly picked up a lot of TV watching this past year!
Hopefully TT will re-motivate all of us! :)

My name is Samantha/Sam! I live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA! This is my second year playing TT. Like most of you, I'm also pretty new into Discworld but definitely down to give them a try :) My reading is kind of all over the place but I love me a good fantasy or mystery/thriller. I'm a sucker for a page turner :)
Hi, everyone! My name is Sana and I'm in Asia. I read nearly everything except non fiction. Paranormal romance and urban fantasy are my favorite genres. I'm usually a fast reader.
It's my first time taking part in TT. I started this year with Discworld and have become a huge TP fan. I finished Wryd Sisters (Discworld #6) a few weeks ago. That's when I found about this challenge. So, here I am and really excited to be doing this with you all.

Hey!My name is Renata and I'm from Brazil. This is my first time taking this type of challenge, I hope I'll have fun. I read mostly fantasy and romance, but if the synopsis catch my attention i'll read whatever. I've never read any of Discworld books yet I've been saying for ages that I should read later, but later never comes. Maybe this challenge will change that!
Here is my shelf
Hi everyoneI am Imke and I am from The Netherlands. This is not my first TT (I think number 5 or 6). I read almost every genre there is, but I favorites are fantasy (everything that fits there) and romance. I like to participate in the BOMs. Next to reading I like diamond painting (while listening to an audiobook).

Hi everybody!I’m Lynne, and I am one of the co-captains. I live in Texas with my 11 month old baby girl Genevieve (Evie), my partner Tom, and our two psychotically lovable cats. I am not working at the moment but am applying to grad schools for library/information science. I am on GR at least once every night but usually also several times a day.
My very favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi (adult and YA). I dabble in mystery and romance. Sometimes non-fiction. I like to read all the things! I have been wanting to read the Discworld series for ages, so this looks like the perfect time to try it out.
I am so looking forward to this! I have never done a TT before, but I love team challenges. One of my favorite things to do is finding books that fit different challenge tasks. I read all sorts of books that I usually wouldn’t read during challenges, for better or worse!

Hi there! This is Team Rob Anybody dropping in!!
Can you all provide some book recommendations? We'll supply some in return if you wish.
I'll start us off with a few recommendations for some other teams to check in on...as people add their recommendations I'll make us a recommendations post towards the top for other teams to check.
Here are some book recommendations:
I am not sure how to show the book covers instead of the book titles. Hope that is ok.
Absolutely fine Heather. And there are two ways to show covers instead. When you click the add book/author link there's a little bubble at the bottom that asks you if you want to add link or cover. You can just flip that to cover. Or when the book code is in your comment box just add cover to the end of where it says book. [*bookcover:The High King's Golden Tongue|25902535] - it'd look like this minus the * in front. That's just there so that the code will stay for you all to see.
Shelby wrote: "Absolutely fine Heather. And there are two ways to show covers instead. I am unsure why I never noticed that I could just pick to display the book cover. I feel a little silly that I overlooked that. 🙂
Hello Archchancellor!Team Moist has compiled some books in a listopia. Dive in, bring a towel...

If you have any recommendations to send our way, please do!!!!!
Hey everyone!I see that I am late. I remember it was only last night that I was going through my notifications to see if I'd maybe missed something about this. I even thought for a minute that the challenge was cancelled. Can you imagine the horror???!!!
Anyway, I am from India. I am a software engineer by profession and I have a passion for reading, singing and dancing. So ya I do a lot of stuff. I try to check in regularly, but sometimes weekdays become a bit hectic with work, in which case you will not see me pop in for 3-4 days.
At one point of time I only read mystery novels. But I've now dipped my fingers in several more. Historical fiction, fantasy, fiction, non fiction, romance, I've done them all and which one I like usually depends on my mood. I try to mix up different genres so I don't get bored of anyone. However mystery books will be my one true and first love. :D
I haven't read any discworld books. But I am excited to be here. I see someone here is currently doing the Uno challenge. I'm doing it too and the fact that this was starting right after that challenge finished was perfect. It was totally meant to be!
So here I am, to read with a team and to make new friends.

Heyya Everyone!Sorry I'm late in checking in! This has been a busy week for me, so a little bit less active on Goodreads. Thank You Shelby for messaging me and giving me a nudge :)
I am from India, and I am a Chartered Accountant by profession, but I completed most of my education in Dubai. I love reading but for few years it took a slight back seat as I shifted all my focus into my exams.
My favorite genre is Mystery & Thrillers. But I also love reading YA, Romance, General Fiction and Graphic novels. There are a few authors whom I love and whose books I never miss out on. But I do enjoy discovering new books and trying out new genre.
I have never read Discworld. In fact I just heard about it after signing up for this challenge. I am currently doing the UNO challenge which is really amazing and decided to sign up for this too!
I don't know any of you yet but I am looking forward to know you all better.

We have so many similarities!!
Hello!I'm Amy from Ohio. I work an insane job, so I won't be around as much as previous TTs, but I will do my best to get reading done for this since it is one of my favorite challenges. I think I have read a couple Discworld novels, but not in any kind of order. I am hoping to pick up some during this challenge. I tend to read more mysteries and thrillers, but will read a little bit of pretty much any genre.

Hi, Team Nanny Ogg here! We’ve got some book recommendations. You can check them out here.
If you have any book recommendations, please send them our way :)
Good luck and have fun everyone!
Hello Archancellor Ridcully
The Librarian has the following recommended reading list for you. Please check them out at your ease. However, make sure you return them to the library on time or face the consequences.
Here are some book recs from me:
Everyone share your book recs soon so we can return the favor to the other teams!
(I’ve already added many books to my TBR just from the recs we have received so far so that’s both good and bad lol)

Oh ya we do!!
Just finished a rom-com that I thought was fantastic. It will work for several of the tasks once the challenge starts.
Enjoy the View
Gunit Kaur Kalada wrote: "Are we giving recommendations randomly or for the categories which are part of the challenge?"Any sort of recommendations you would like. A couple of the categories call for a recommendation from a different team.

maria helena wrote: "Here are some recommendations from me:"Hi The Martian is a really good book. I read it all in one day, I just couldn't put it down. I have preordered Project Hail Mary by him and it is released at the start of May so I am planning on reading it during this challenge.

[bookcover:A Memory ..."Oooh looks like we've got some favorites in common too. :) I adored Written in Red and A Gentleman in Moscow was one of my favorite surprises.
Gah! Anyone else having a hard time deciding what to read right now as we wait for everything to start? I keep looking at my TBR for the next month or so and going, no...I can't read that one it'd be perfect for such and such a task. Or, yeah, nope that will fulfill that task and I'm sure that'll be a harder one to find. I'm paralyzing myself with indecision!
