Fourth and last thread, covering chapters 52-67 and the Epilogue.

Maybe this last part of the book is the one where the highest lyricism has been reached — with lots of descriptions and a more introspective view of the characters — and surely the most intense and rich in suspense.
I've held my breath till the end, (view spoiler) but the beauty of this story also lies in its unpredictability.

Here's a funny thing.
The beginning of Chapter LXV, which I quote from my Italian edition of the book,
Era una notte tempestosa e buia, grosse nubi correvano nel cielo velando la luce delle stelle; la luna sarebbe sorta solo a mezzanotte.

and from the English version:
It was a stormy and dark night; vast clouds covered the heavens, concealing the stars; the moon would not rise till midnight.

reminds me of this famous Peanuts' strip:

Reminds me of a book I got for my children, It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, which revelled in the cliches and has lovely illustrations. Also rather meta for a children’s book.
