Cheryl (cherylllr) I want to make sure that any books that are on my virtual shelf tagged as ones I own are actually books that I do still have. I expected a few to have slipped through the cracks with the last move or whenever.

But:

I just now tried. I sort & filter by "in hands" and "shelf owner" and see a lot of books that I don't even remember ever having. Is that due to poor memory, or is there another check I need to make? Or am I confused totally?

Thank you for your advice!

Saskia (Smitie) (smitie) | 19 comments Do you have Wings? When I use Wings, I filter the To be read to registrant: any, possesion: in hands, sort by Recent Journals, Ascending and then you get the oldest books on your shelf. If you don't have Wings, you can use title or author instead of recent journals

Maybe you filtered all books and then you also see books you released a long time ago. And mistakes happen, I also have some books that I can't find anymore, so eventually I release them to a location with a note that I probably released it in the past but forgot to post a release note.

I hope this helps, if not a message on the bookcrossing help forum on the bookcrossing website possibly helps.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Thank you. I don't have wings anymore, nor am I active. I like your suggestions though.

I think what I'll do is just mark the ones that are exceedingly unfamiliar at 'traveling' and hope that gets things tidy 'enough.'

Best wishes!
