Rosetta watched all the female and male selected clamber out of their limos, from her room window. Some of them were here for her and that scared her. She had always been a bright child, never being nervous about anything. This terrified her. Luckily she had her brother by her side, but still.
Her long chestnut hair, swirled and waved down over one shoulder. She fingered through it hoping to make the stress go away. She continued to watch them, hoping she would see familiar faces. She never did. So she decided that must be it then. She told herself to get it together.
Then she gilded away from her room and to the palace entrance.
Rosetta had ran back to her room, the moment she was able to not be seen. It was to much for her. Even with her own eight selected. It was still to much. Not many people ever really had stayed at the palace, so she had just grown up her family. There were to many people here now.
Rosetta flopped onto her bed with a sigh, she pulled her heels off.
"Are you alright?" My maid, asked. She was one of the only people Rosetta really trusted, besides her brother.
Rosetta nodded, "I just need some sleep," She said.
Several hours later, Rosetta was awakened by the sun streaming in. She yawned, got out of bed, and went to her mirror. "Yikes!" She exclaimed. She looked terrible, bed hair was not a good look on her.
She changed her dress into a navy blue knee-length dress. She put on flats, because her feet still hurt from the heels she had worn. A maid fixed her hair into a braid over her shoulder. She thanked her and walked out of her room.
"I was not built for heels" Rosetta said, she wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone.
The male turned around to see Rosetta. Just like a small puppy greeting its person after a long day of work, the male beamed. "Princess Rosetta! Hello." he greeted with a giddy smile. After all, he was finally able to properly meet one of the people he greatly respected since a child. "Are you alright?" he asked soon after, wanting to make sure she didn't hurt herself. After realizing she may have gotten hurt from bumping into him, his face turned to one of concern rather than one of excitement. He had been walking around, trying to get a feel for the castle. Unfortunately, his memory of the castle's interior was a bit more cloudy than he had remembered, and well, currently he was lost.
"Angelo? Is that you?" Rosetta asked. "My head hurts, but that is because the siblings and I had an eating contest yesterday. Of course, I did not win. I don't have a stomach for those things," Rosetta said, with a smile. "How long has it been since we have seen you?" She asked.
She tried counting on her fingers, but that ended up terribly. She gave up on that and looked at Angelo. It was nice seeing him again. "Wait? Your one of my selected?" She asked
The male smiled gently, happy that he remembered her. "It's been a few years at least." He said, answering her question. He was a bit concerned for her health, naturally, but he was not going to tell her that she shouldn't have fun. He chuckled nervously after hearing her last question. "Yeah, I am. I was pretty surprised when I was notified as well, granted, excited. After all, it meant I got to see you again." He hummed. He looked toward her for a moment. "Are you okay though? You looked pretty overwhelmed earlier when we all arrived. I was a bit worried when I saw you leave, but because of the rules for the selection and not knowing my way around, I couldn't exactly follow you to your suite." He said, clearly concerned for her. After all, while he respected the girl, he also cared for her a lot.
"I swear I am. Its just that the selection wasn't either Casbians or I's ideas. We both honestly don't want to get married, Or I don't. I guess it would be nice to have a partner, but who am I kidding? No one could handle all of my excitement. " She said with a smile.
"It has been way to long, you should have come for a visit before all of this crept upon us. It would have been nice spending time with someone other than my siblings," She said.
"WOuld you like to go somewhere to talk?" Rosetta asked.
He nodded in understanding. While he did not have a 'selection,' his parents were looking into suitors for him already. It's why he was happy to finally get this break and possibly hang out with one of the people he liked. "I get that, and I'm sorry for not coming sooner. I got swamped with my duties as prince as well as my parents trying to push a bunch of prospective suitors on me. I'll make sure to visit more after the selection is over." He said with a small, sheepish smile. He had always been the type to not really care much for who he married, though, he had always hoped it'd at least be someone he liked and not a complete stranger. Though, from his words, it could easily be assumed that he didn't expect to win the selection. After all, if he won, he would stay at Illea for a while to discuss things of their marriage and would naturally be with the princess quite a bit as they would be married if he was picked out of all the suitors.
"I'd love to. It'd be good to catch up." he hummed happily, wearing his usual gentle smile. He was honestly really happy to have the chance to speak to Rosetta, having been worried she was going to be too overwhelmed with the whole selection thing and busy to be able to talk to him.
Rosetta blushed pink. She missed talking with Angelo. It had been a very long time since she and him had spkoen, she missed there tiny chats. "Gardens" she asked
He smiled and nodded. "Though, you'll have to lead the way. I'm actually quite lost at the moment," he said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
Rosetta smiled, "of course, follow me." Rosetta said. She tried imagining what it would be like married to Angelo. She knew she would have to leave Illea and move into his country, since he was the crown prince. She would miss her twin brother and siblings, her mother, and even her father.
She started walking slowly to the gardens waiting for Angelo to catch up.
