Yes, yes! The Volcano Lady and The Volcano Lady. These comprise one book, gripping, thrilling, about 800 pages long, with a romantic subplot that builds in slowly and almost by surprise. I came for the adventure, enjoyed the romance, and read the last 200 pages in a rush; couldn't put it down.
Edit: That shows one book twice for some reason. They are Volumes I and II. You'll see when you follow the links.

You'll be wanting Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate books then, if you like your supernatural as well.
That's the first of a series with individual stories and slow-burn romance. With a fairly light tone and little bit sexy.
I'm just trying to think which others have the stronger romance threads, um Shelley Adina's
Now you could also (if you don't mind a little self-promotion) try mine as well which, individually are murder/mystery/thrillers but there's also a fairly potent slow-burn romance. Mine are definitely adult reading (not gratuitous but I don't hold back where it's needed) but still have humour.
This is the first three novellas in one - currently on offer because I've just released the fourth.
*end of self-promotion*
I have a few for you to try, all steampunk with a side dish of romance. First, I couldn't agree more with the suggestion of Gail Carriger's series....smart, romantic & laugh out loud funny. Some others:
"Nefertiti's Heart" (A.W. Exley)
"Study in Silks" (Emma Jane Holloway)
"The Miss Education of Dr. Exeter" (Jillian Stone)
"A Conspiracy of Alchemists" (Liesel Schwarz)
Hope you find something you enjoy!
I love Nefertiti's Heart, still need to read Nero's Fiddle in the same series. I love the mix of steampunk and ancient history/ mythology.
The Constantine Affliction is a surprisingly enjoyable read though I do wish T. Aaron Payton would give us another entry into this world.

I do like some romance to my reading (sorry purists!) so can someone recommend a good book to start with?
Thx :)
