personality↛ (view spoiler)[ the male is extremely blunt. he often will tell it as it is and say what's on his mind, especially if he's being annoyed. however, even he knows his limitations. he won't say anything crude to those who are above him or on the same social status, though he will most definitely make his distaste noticeable. he'd just bite his tongue and keep his thoughts to himself. despite this, he isn't exactly cruel. he won't do or say anything unwarranted, and he's not the type to blame his servants or abuse them or anything. the male is cruel, cold, and vindictive. he's extremely particular about certain things and is not exactly the most forgiving person, even if it was a simple mistake. even so, he's actually rather gracious compared to some others. he will only hash out punishments according to what they did wrong. if they stole from him, they would either have to return the item, pay him back, or will be fired. if they spilled tea on him, they'd simply have to clean his outfit after preparing him more clothing and tea. he's definitely spoiled to some degree, though, he isn't exactly spoiled to the sense that he can't do anything for himself. he can do the bare minimum, like cook for himself if the situation calls for it, dress, and clean himself. he doesn't actually rely on the servants all too much unless it's to clean his clothing and provide him with beverages, snacks, and help cater any social events, as well as clean his room if he's too busy to tidy up himself. he's not a very trusting person, not exactly opening up to many people at all. he is cold to most others, going as far as to ignore them or, if the situation warrants it, glare at them to let them know he is not in the mood to speak. he finds social events and most people to be a pain in the ass and claims they do nothing but cause him stress and a major headache, but he will attend if need be. most of the time though, he will only do something that he doesn't want to if it's a direct order from the king or crown prince. while the male may seem like one of those distasteful spoiled brats who throw around their power, he's extremely docile and even hates his position to some extent. it's convenient for him, yes, but it's bothersome at times too. Though, he can be a bit dense to certain things. He's extremely gentle and tends to worry a bit too much for others. He's soft spoken, but he's also pretty eccentric. He can be a bit weird and at other times, rather playful. Some times, he seems pretty carefree, but at others, believe it or not, can assume his role as Italy's crown prince. Though, he's often been told that it is a strange look on him, that of a serious person. It isn't exactly unbefitting though, just strange considering his usual demeanor. He does take his work and responsibilities seriously. The male is a bit too curious for his own good too, but he does know his limits and boundaries. He is a very observant person as well, often picking up on even the littlest things. He rather knowledgable, but even so, he seems to underestimate himself a lot. He doesn't seem to have much confidence, at least not confidence in himself or his abilities. He's not exactly the best at hiding his emotions, as they kind of show all over his face, even if he doesn't want to. - He's basically a housewife, and honestly, is more than willing to be so if it'll make his partner happy.
- He often finds himself taking on all of the work and responsibility by himself, not like to ask for help despite how stressful it can be.
- He's really good at doing other people's hair
- He's surprisingly rather generous toward the staff, occasionally giving them advice, whether it being work-related or a personal problem that they were having trouble fixing.
- Some of his actions can seem more child-like than anything, though, he gets embarrassed when compared to a child. Though, when compared to a girl, he usually responds with something like 'I'd be a great woman' or something like that, not taking offense to it in the slightest, which kind of shows his respect for women.
- He seems to appreciate most things people do for him, no matter how small.
- He respects the crown prince of Illea a lot, even if he's older and them being complete opposites, so much to even say he looks up to him. However, it's the same for his twin sister. He respects her a lot, for a multitude of reasons. That's why he was excited about this opportunity to become closer to her, even if it's, in the end, only as a friend and he isn't picked to be her spouse.

Callan Childhood Stories

- One day, there was a diplomat's son at the palace, as they were heading back from a father-son trip when his father was called to the palace. The diplomat's son was playing with Cal and his siblings. Cal gave the boy a big smooch in the middle of their little roleplaying game and asked his fellow adventurer to marry him. The boy went home crying, going off about cooties for weeks. Four years later, the same boy came to the palace saying he had fallen in love with Cal and said he accepted his marriage. Cal agreed, only to say five seconds later that he wanted a divorce because he loved someone else. While everyone probably just thinks of it as kids playing their games, Cal still gets flowers, gifts, and constant love confessions and poems from the guy. This was only revealed when one of his sibling's personal servants overheard him mutter something along the lines 'I thought I already divorced him. Why is he still sending these things,' and the only known instance of Cal 'divorcing' anyone was the one back then.

- Once, when Cal was little, he got really irritated with his brother's musical practices. He heard a story from one of the maids about how her baby brother who was teething would go around biting people's ankles, which gave Cal an idea. He stole some dark makeup and some stuff to make a costume as well as use some red lipstick for fake blood. It was an awful disguise, but it was good enough to scare someone around his age. He hid under his brother's bed during one of his practices, and when Casbian went over to his bed to sit down and rest after standing for so long, Cal bit his ankle. The incident absolutely terrified the boy and he stopped playing his violin for a long while, giving Cal peace. Fortunately, Cal escaped without being caught. Though, it may have recently gotten out that Cal was the culprit of that incident when one of the maidservants had found Cal's old journal where he planned out the thing and drew a picture of him biting Casbian's ankle. From there, word spread like wildfire about the cold prince's childhood antics.

Cal's trauma
Callan had been, initially, when he was a very very young, and energetic, sweet, and bright child. Though, when he was around six years of age, there was a servant that had entered the palace as his personal guard. The guard really hated the royal family for various reasons, and because of this, he got close to the young, impressionable and naive prince. Once he was close to the child, he would tell him all kinds of things, such as telling him that in the world's eyes, he is worthless as he does not have the status of the crown prince and ultimately had absolutely no power. He might as well be that of a servant. He was only a decorative piece kept to look nice, but had absolutely no worth. He even went as far as convincing his maidservant, the one he came to really like at the time, to give him a decorative sword as a gift, along with the words 'I hope the gods will allow you to live like this sword.' At the time, he had no way of knowing that his closest maidservant had no idea of the meaning of the sword. To give a gift like that and to say something like that was considered the greatest insult to him, even if it may seem like a good thing. Sure, the decorative sword was nice and expensive, but that's all it was. A decorative sword has no actual use in battle or as a weapon, which is what it is meant for. Useless, a failure. In other words, she had wished for him to live a lavish life where he would worry about nothing and would have everything handed to him without any real responsibilities and no real use.

He had gradually become more and more distant from everyone, as well as cold. He listened to the guard's words more and more, believing every single one of them. After all, what reason would the guard have to lie to him? He was only looking out for Cal and letting him know how others truly saw him. Then, his maidservant died from childbirth, a child of someone from caste 2. This was when the guard had taken advantage of everything and started to sew seeds of hatred in Cal, hatred for the royal family, hatred for the caste system. Thankfully, one of the other guards had begun to notice the strange behavior of the guard and reported it, which was when Cal's personal guard, the one who had been manipulating him all these years and putting those ideas in his head, was imprisoned. The only reason he wasn't executed was that Cal had firmly opposed it, and as everything was already public, they could not risk any further civil unrest.

However, the guard's tongue was chopped off for spewing such lies and crude words to that of the royal family. Casteel became Cal's personal royal guard after that and has been for the past year. The incident is still rather recent, and well, Cal hasn't exactly fully recovered from it. He's been getting monitored since the incident and a lot of things about what happened, about what was said and done to him, still haven't come to light. It's possibly due to all of this that the male is the way he is, and why he's as responsible as he is, despite his young age. Either way, it's quite clear that his current behavior is due to having to grow up too early and having to face part of the world's cruel reality.

personality↛ (view spoiler)[ the male at first glance is just a lazy alchoholic. Despite this depiction he's made for himself, the male is rather strong and resourceful, as well as nimble. He doesn't actually drink that much, not enough to be drunk anyways. He's a forgiving person and fun to be around at times, despite his grumpy attitude, but he's also strict. He's not the most affectionate person there is, but he's definitely a kind person. He is carefree and a bit braizen for a guard. He's more than willing to step up when its needed and when ordered to. He acts like everything is a pain and is stupidly sarcastic, and he may appear as just the grumpy uncle/dad, but he does a lot more than he lets on. He has a soft spot for children and his daughter and is willing to do anything to protect her and a child, even if he doesn't know them. He may seem like a jerk as well, but he's far more giving than many give him credit for. Despite being nothing but a guard from poor origins, he speaks rather informally to Cal, who doesn't seem to mind it despite the two not really being buddy buddy. He definitely has a lot of nerve, but what he lacks in respect and decrom, he makes up with his loyalty and skill. He also has a peculiar weapon. Rather than a sword, he has one of his own personal creations, a scythe of some sort. His uncle was a blacksmith, so it was something he had his uncle help him make while he was still a knight in training. His peculiar weapon made it hard to work with at first, but he soon became nefarious for the strange weapon and the skills he had developed while learning to work with it. (hide spoiler)]

- For a few years there, Cal genuinely thought that his older brother Caspian, was planning to have him killed and that all his siblings were in on it.
- Cal's bodyguard would actually send a lot of people to Cal's room for many purposes, putting it in Cal's head that they were sent by his siblings and parents to ruin him. (view spoiler)[ Cal is no longer a virgin due to one of these visits (hide spoiler)]
- Cal would likely freeze in fear if he saw his bodyguard. While Cal is cold, in the face of the man who ruined his childhood, it wouldn't be unlikely for him to just start shaking a storm and maybe even start tearing up.
- Cal refuses to go to the dungeons because of this, even though he was the one who asked his father to not kill him and just imprison him instead, as well as keep the whole ordeal a secret from his siblings and their people.
- Cal hasn't actually smiled since he was little.
- Cal has night terrors about the things that would happen. His bodyguard's words, the abuse, the intruders, etc.
- Due to what happened, the security around Cal's room is especially tight at night. Only one guard is allowed anywhere near Cal, that being his personal guard. Not including the head guard of course, though the two don't have a close relationship, to begin with.
- Cal actually wears glasses. He has bad eyesight, but because of the lurking insecurities drilled into him in the past, he doesn't like wearing it around the palace. He only wears them when he needs to read something important. Because of this, his sight is much like a blur and he can't actually see anything clearly. At least, not without his contacts, which he doesn't like wearing and sometimes neglect to wear.
- Cal refuses to let anyone in his room while he's changing or bathing. This is due to some of the scars on his body, which were injuries that were untreated, similar to his hand. This relates to the abuse he went through until the year prior.
- Cal, who has never shown any interest in particular in learning any kind of martial arts or swordsmanship, spends four days a week training with the knights, keeping his distance of course. This is to build up muscle and because he needs to avoid situations like before. Because of this, he needs to know how to fight. Thanks to this, he actually learned he's pretty good at swordsmanship. While he isn't very strong, he's fast and has a lot of stamina and pain resistance.
- Cal dislikes mushrooms. He finds their texture and tastes awful, but he doesn't really complain or reveal this, instead, he just eats them as it is expected of him.
- While he has his maid and his guard, the only two he'd ever let see him being vulnerable, he still doesn't open up about a lot of things. While he trusts them, not enough to really talk about things. Because of this, even with them by his side, he feels quite lonely. That loneliness coming even more evident when he's alone.
- He cannot sleep in the dark. He'd terrified of the dark and is likely to have a panic attack if that were to happen.
- He doesn't like whips, due to, well, reasons. He refuses to go in carriages if they are holding a whip or use one. Instead, he'd rather ride behind the carriage on a horse of his own.
- He's pretty nice to the horses and finds them relaxing to be around. He, in particular, was given a rather difficult horse two years prior by his bodyguard. Surprisingly, he managed to tame it. Though it often gives trouble to the stable hands and usually throws its riders off, and if they can't, well, they make it difficult for them to hold on. The horse in particular won't do as it's ordered. It only seems to listen to Cal and is strangely calm around him. Some could say that Cal likes his horses the same way he likes his servants; loyal only to him.
- Cal usually keeps track of all palace rumors, and even has people specifically placed within the palace to keep an eye on things and report to him. Spies some may say, though, they are employed under him and do their other duties. They just give him accurate information rather than rumors. Though, he doesn't go around causing scandals or anything. In fact, he seems to bury and take care of things long before they can become an issue usually. He keeps what he knows a secret, and well, because he never really expresses what he knows, it might be unknown why he's giving certain people judgemental looks. He is probably even willing to hide a body or two if one commits murder, though, just because he's helping you doesn't mean your safe from his judgment. He has gotten rid of a few bodies before, from the ones he had killed that broke into the room that tried to hurt him.
- Cal is an insomniac. Usually, he can't sleep without a certain medicine that is provided by the royal doctor. This is due to having to lay awake in fear at night for many years.
- Tea usually calms Cal's nerves and puts him in a good mindset and mood.
- When Cal has a cavity, it's usually a disaster. The servants will be forced to keep sweets from him and he's constantly trying to sneak dessert in. He becomes especially low energy in times like this, but rather than becoming irritable, he just stays in his room and sleeps a whole lot. He ends up having to consume twice as much regular food as well, due to the lack of calories he's taking in during that time.

Fun fact about Cal & Angelo
I have a love-hate relationship with them. Most of the time I hate their guts and I want to see them suffer, but at the same time, they are my creations and babies so I just can't. Kind of like my relationship with those hounds that terrorize the animals in the neighborhood. I want to smack them with the golf stick or broom, but at the same time, I can't bring myself to hurt them because they are dogs

More Cal stuff
- Cal believes that situations like what happened during the elimination are normal and also genuinely believes that his other siblings have had to been attacked by an assassin at least once before then. Mainly because he wants to believe he was not the only one who had to deal with that.

- Cal hardly ever sleeps. He often stays up for entirely too long until his body can't take it and he passes out.

- Cal had three main arcs as a child. One where he was cheerful, energetic, mischievous, and playful. He was naive, trusting, and a bit frail. This was before his PB showed up. After going through some trauma, Cal became timid, paranoid, and often locked himself up in his room. He wouldn't eat half the time, as he found he would just throw it up, and the only things they could get him to eat were light things like sweets. Then, he slowly became the cal we know today. It was his way of coping, cutting himself off from the world so he didn't have to experience that ever again.

- Cal actually used to hate sweet things as a child, despite how strange that might be. However, it was one of the few things he was able to keep down as time went on so he slowly began to learn to like it. He actually still hates anything too sweet, which is why he always has tea to wash it down.

- Cal probably interacts with the staff a whole lot, regardless of them being extras or not. He's very direct, and while he seems stern, he doesn't usually expect too much from them. He's pretty strict when it comes to the security of the palace though.

- Cal is still pretty weak for the most part. He could probably easily be pinned down and held down, just like a child would. He's fast and has a lot of stamina, but due to how malnourished he was until just a year ago because he wouldn't eat much because he was scared it might just come back up (there was no telling when more people would come after him, and his PB kept reminding him of things that he didn't want to be reminded of), he hasn't really had the chance to build up that strength. Sure, he's good with the sword, but if it was a battle of strength, he'd lose.
