This was a very quick read considering the length of the book. I really enjoyed the tone and the writing style. I think Elizabeth Gilbert is a clever, witty writer and I felt that showed in this book. Some reviews accuse it of being slow and ponderous and there were a few sections where I felt bogged down. Even with a few dull parts I still really enjoyed this book. I like the long list of imperfect characters. Even with their imperfections most of the characters were still loveable and very relatable. I would recommend this to people who aren't afraid of the lengthy books that span several centuries.
