The day Miles Lambert knocked on Pete Riley's door was the first day in a living nightmare. Miles informs Pete that their children, 2 year old Theo and David, were switched at birth and each had been raising the wrong son. Pete and his partner Maddie don't want to believe it but DNA testing proves it to be true. Miles and his wife Lucy have begun a lawsuit against the hospital where the boys were born and would like Pete and Maddie to join them. The foursome also agree to cooperate in parenting the little boys so that their lives are disrupted as little as possible. As the investigation delves into the parents' lives things are not quite as pleasant as they seem. One of the parents is not quite as willing to share as the others seem to be and has begun planting seeds of doubt within the legal system. It soon becomes clear that this person will stop at nothing to win the case even if it means destroying the lives of all involved.
What an interesting take on the 'switched-at-birth' scenario; just add a determined psychopath and there's a whole new twist. The four parents could not be more different and a couple of them are not even particularly likeable. At the heart of the matter are two little boys, also complete opposites, who deserve better than what is happening to them. One of these parents is completely chilling and I couldn't wait to see him/her get caught.
