i started Crooked Kingdom and i am scared to continue reading it for some reason

I’ve only read the first chapter and a page of the second chapter. So right now, I know that Wylan is in disguise or something.
I read a spoiler for this book and I just feel guilty when I read CK😭

I'm reading Towering right now, and it doesn't even seem to be about what the description says. The first few pages were and then it switched to the point of view of someone else. It's been pretty weird so far, and nothing like I was expecting. I'm honestly a lil annoyed.

Honestly I'm already on chapter 8 , and still don't like it. Add to that the bad reviews. I'm just going to DNF it....
