number 1 NY times best seller right now.
no its not UF genre.
all UF began to seam the same with a new candy wrapper for me. so i picked this up.
i will admit i was like wth for awhile, that added to the suspence. 70% into the book i had a good idea what was going on but no clue how it would turn out, till the end.
gave four stars but more like 4.5
another suggestion that is Uf but a bit different that i enjoyed.
Thanks! I didn't know Charlaine Harris started a new series. I admit I couldn't finish the last book in the Sookie Stackhouse series but it might be interesting to see something new.
The Bone Season The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon is pretty good. I am about to start the second book in this series called The Mime Order The Mime Order It's kind of a cross between UF and Steampunk SciFi
I really enjoyed Fire & Flood, Salt & Stone. Lots of fun, don't think about them too hard. I also ripped through all three Alex Craft books but sadly it looks like the author won't be continuing those after #3.If you're looking for something with more grit, Robert Bennet Jackson's City of Stairs was marvelous but it took a lot to get into the book
Finished my first audio book
. I think i found how to listen to them, for me.. can't just sit, i have to be doing something else too, but focused on the book (heh I played Civ 5)I wish there had been 2 narrators, but the guy did good except for the women.
I have an audio of
on preorder.

So fantastic. I am obsessed with this series!"
I felt this book did a wonderful job providing more in depth world and character building. Sadly I thought there was just a minor progression to the story.
(view spoiler)
I am curious Mattie what your thoughts are.
sorry if this not the place for this reply["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I'm about to read #3. I enjoyed #1 a fair bit, thought #2 had lost its way a bit. Sounds like #3 is just more of the same. (Which I'll still totally read, because I'm easy like that, but still...)My biggest problem with these is the passivity of the heroine, and you could see in #1 where she was coming out of her shell and taking charge of her life (especially in the post office) but in #2, she just sort of was there.
Free Book! Gene Doucette, author of The Immortal has posted on his facebook account:"I'm trying something new in an effort to drum up interest in the Chronicles on other platforms. I've made the first book free everywhere... except Amazon, which doesn't do free.
I know you're thinking "what are you talking about, they have a ton of free books." They allow books in Select to go free for up to 5 days, but Immortal at Sea isn't in Select, and I'm looking for a more long-term option.
So, there's this idea called permafree. Amazon price-matches when a book is on sale for a lower price at another site. The way to get a book free on Amazon is to lower it to free everywhere ELSE and wait.
The "Immortal" has many excellent reviews on Goodreads. I found it an excellent read and have purchased all of the novellas. So, here is a chance to get it for free!
