Darby Hey, so I can recommend books and refer you to reviewers (myself or others I work with) for YA and middle grade books, especially ones with diversity as a running theme (LGBTQ+, POC, cultural/religious representation). Just let me know if you're interested and what genres and subgenres you prefer!

Great! Some amazing books I've read lately are The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Choski and Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (if you're into fantasy). If you prefer contemporary books, you might enjoy Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo, or We Are Okay by Nina McLour.

My review for Legendborn: https://thepicassobookworm.wordpress....

A great review for The Gilded Wolves:https://www.thebooksmugglers.com/2019...

let me know if you're interested, or if you're into something different. Hope you have a great day!! (:

Do you have any recommendations for books with ace, pan, or demi rep?

If you know YA fantasy books with main LGBTQ+ characters, I would like some recommendations :)

It's (sadly) hard to find books with demi characters, I personally have looked and never encountered one but it doesn't mean they're not out there. I'll let you know if I encounter any!

As for ace/aro books, I recommend Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand, Loveless by Alice Oseman. The books The Lost Coast by Amy Rose Capetta and In the Ravenous Dark by A. M. Strickland have pan representation (:

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan (haven't finished it yet but so far it's amazing), and Legendborn by Tracy Deonn if you prefer urban fantasy.

This is a good list for more titles as well https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...

Some fantasy books I really like are

-Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
-The Diviners by Libba Bray
-The Folk of The Air Trilogy by Holly Black
-The Extraordinaries by T.J Klune
-A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer (though the second book was a huge letdown)
-The Poppy War by R.F Kuang (if you want your heart ripped out)
-Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust
-Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
-The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
-The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare (though you have to read The Mortal Instruments and that's six books long and I think they're mediocre)

magdalena dolorico (magdalenadolorico) | 6 comments hi everyone :)) i finished the Night Circus not long ago and absolutely adored it. i want to read more books like it but i’m only finding white authors!! does anyone have recs for books like the Night Circus written by POC authors?

if you’re unfamiliar with the Night Circus, what i’m looking for is a fantasy book that’s very atmospheric and immersive. something that’s not really war or battle or save the world focused, but more centered on human stories and beautiful descriptions that as a whole just immerse you in a magical and emotional experience. does that make sense?😂 or at least a fantasy that’s sort of slower paced and atmospheric is what i mean.
