I recently finished reading Shadow and Bone so I'm debating if I should re read Six of Crows before I watch the show

I definitely enjoyed soc more than s&b as books.

@Brooke, yeah I heard that a lot so I finished the Grisha Trilogy and then watched the show. I thought it was a pretty faithful book-to-movie adaptation as long as the trilogy was concerned.

Six of Crows is definitely more popular than S&B, so I suppose that's why they incorporated it into the show but they altered the plot for it to fit in with S&B. I thought the show was amazing and I'll most probably rewatch it after I'm done with SoC duology (I'm currently reading it) because so many people say Kaz, Inej and the rest of the crows are very well played by Freddy, Amita, Kit, Danielle and the others

yeah - i liked the show a lot more than the s&b books! i liked Alina and Mal more in the show (i hated them in the books lol) and i thought Ben Barnes' portrayal of The Darkling was so amazing.

something that upset me though was that Amita's stunt double was played by a white person and they painted her brown for the stunt scenes. 😕

yeah, using a white stunt double is definitely not okay and i am glad that it was brought to awareness on the internet.

another thing i didn't like is that nina, who is plus-sized, wasn't portrayed as such. of course her actress is amazing, but it would have been a nice representation.

in general i think the show was done really well. i liked the actors more than expected, especially amita, kit and jessie, and they did their jobs fantastically. the special effects were amazing, too. what i loved the most were the crow scenes.

the only actress didn't like is zoya's, she simply doesn't fit my imagination at all. freddy portrays kaz pretty well, however, i think he looks a bit too old, considering that kaz is supposed to be a teenager. same goes for ben as the darkling. nevertheless, their acting is immaculate and they really brought the characters to live.

yeah i totally agree!! quite a few of them weren't how i imagined (nina was super different from how i imagined her in my head). but i really loved the acting and i hope that for the second season (if it gets renewed for a second season) they are more considerate of proper casting; i really hope they replace Amita's stunt double with a brown person or poc

me too! i really hope they continue the show and that they do it with proper casting

yeah he's not in the show 😢
but he might be in the second season

I really loved the show overall and thought it was amazing, but I do have problems with the stunt doubles and small details, like how they gave away the Darkling's name. Other than that, I thought it was fantastic and I can't wait for a second season.
