2021 Read the Season Icelandic Edition

The Read the Season Challenge is fun and easy! Using the first letter of the title, author's first or last name or series name, spell out the season, vor (Spring), and holidays if you choose, in Icelandic. Please disregard any diacritical marks. Feel free to ignore articles: a, an, the, etc. in your titles. If you use the series title, please make sure to include that in your book list. Books must be started and finished within the challenge duration.

Choose your level:
Level 1 - Read the season.
Level 2 - Read the season and any 1 holiday.
Level 3 - Read the season and any 2 holidays.
Extreme! - Read the season and all holidays.


Spring Holidays:
Pálmasunnudagur - Palm Sunday (March 28th)
Föstudagurinn langi - Good Friday (April 2nd)
Páskadagur - Easter (April 4th)
Sumardagurinn fyrsti - First day of summer in the old Icelandic calendar, celebrating the lengthening of days (April 22nd)
Verkalýðsdagurinn - May Day/Labour Day (May 1st)
Mæðradagurinn - Mother's Day (May 9th)
Sjómannadagurinn -Fisherman's Day (June 6th)
Kvenréttindadagurinn - Women's Rights Day (June 19th)


Schedule for 2021:
Winter - December 21, 2020 through March 19, 2021
Spring - March 20, 2021 through June 19, 2021
Summer - June 20, 2021 through September 21, 2021
Autumn - September 22, 2021 through December 20, 2021


You may start this challenge at any time during the season and books may be backdated if they were read within the duration. There is no minimum page requirement, rereads and audiobooks are allowed.
