Many years ago I collected a few first editions. It was fun at the time, but I didn't find it all that rewarding so I stopped.

I'm with you on this one.

I believe I do, but definitely not in “collectors” condition, although still ok-good condition. I think I have a first edition of The Godfather, although it’s missing a dust jacket, and isn’t in the best of shape.
Yes, I did in the past. I paid a hefty price for them and now I'm considering selling them because I probably will never read them again.
I'd like to have a library that looks like the one in Beauty and the Beast... all leather bound. But first editions? Not necessarily. I would love to have an 1812 edition (newly published is fine) of the Grimm Fairy Tales before they were sanitized. Dark, I know.
I like light books without violence and complex chronologies. I recently read the cool https://freebooksummary.com/category/... .This is an easy story about music and a love of creativity. I advise all people who love the music of nature and the classical approach to understanding life to read this book.

I don't often re-read books so I don't keep much of a library but I do like books before they've been rewritten like a few of the older Nancy Drew books I have. I don't understand the reason for rewriting and changing plots and characters. Just write another book for petes sake.

I don't usually re-read either. Nancy Drew, Agatha Christie and a few others YES but mostly no.

I don't re-read often, but to own a huge collection of classics and favorites... it's a fantasy, far too expensive for reality.
