Emary Sorry if I’m not able to have two writing buddies, but I don’t really see the problem in it. So if I’m for some reason not allowed to, just tell me.

But anyway, hi Rain! Thanks for requesting me as your writing buddy!

Rain | 20 comments Um, so I guess we should tell each other about our book...?

Rain | 20 comments Ok, so here is a summary of my book. I’m about 30 pages into writing it. I honestly didn’t expect the summary to turn out so long.

• Gemini disappeared the night her uncle died. No calls, no contact, no sign. Everybody assumes she ran away… or worse. She had nothing left, her parents gone, her little sister gone, and now her uncle. But her best friend Jason knew better than to give up on her. She would have never left him. And one week after her disappearance he wakes up in a room that he did not go to sleep in. George is there with him, a stuck up kid with more money than Jason would ever see in his life. George had always tried to hang out with Jason and Gemini, but Jason hated him. And now, according to the people in the room they were going to the Alternate Universe, the past of the Alternate Universe. 1991 our time he’s told. Because that’s where Gemini was. And although all his questions are answered something just doesn’t add up. Which isn’t surprising with all the information he had just taken in. Before he can even process it all he’s there, but he’s not himself. He’s sent to the alternate universe to find Gem and bring her back. But in order to travel to the Alternate universe, the passenger must transfer their consciousness into a hosts from the alternate universe, and the longer they stay the more they lose Lucidity, the harder it becomes to distinguish their own memories from the hosts. But to make this worse, Jason and George’s hosts are on two different sides of an ongoing war. Jason, a soldier fighting for justice and peac for the king. And George, fighting for freedom from the tyrannical government and the wrath of the soldiers. So as Jason fights the war, him and George trying to find Gemini, he also fights to keep his sanity from the war going on inside his mind.

Rain | 20 comments I know it’s super long, sorry.

message 6: by Rain (new)

Rain | 20 comments I’d actually written it a long time ago so I just pasted it here.

Emary Yeah, I guess! Mine is a YA SF/F. Basically, it’s dual POV. One character is a boy living in poverty under the imperial rule of a neighboring country. The other character is a princess of the imperial country. She can’t understand her country’s cruel ways, so she rebels. With keeping things short, basically they two cross paths in a supernatural way. That’s all I’ll say for now.

Can you tell me a bit about your WIP?

message 8: by Rain (new)

Rain | 20 comments Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, what’s a WIP? I looked it up, it means “work in progress” but I just want to know what you mean when you ask me that?

message 9: by Emary (new)

Emary Oh wait, sorry. I didn’t see your summary. I was just asking you what your WIP (or just whatever you’re writing) was about. I’ll read your summary now.

message 10: by Rain (new)

Rain | 20 comments Oh, ok 👍

message 11: by Rain (new)

Rain | 20 comments Just to elaborate on this a little more, the summary kind of makes it sound like Jason is the main character, and he is one of them, but there are actually 5 main characters and each are very important, and all of them are actually on different sides of the war.

Jason - A soldier fighting for justice.
George- The Resistance leader, fighting or freedom.
Gemini - A member of the mafia, who steals from both the soldiers and resistance for their own gain.
Claire - A Flare from the alternate universe, (Flares are these evolved beings that humans oppress out of fear. They usually have special abilities like pyrokinesis, teleportation etc. They’re labeled as demonic and evil) who starts a group called The Elites to fight for equality for Flares.
John - John works for the company that sends Jason and George to the alternate universe, he fights for no one but himself.

Anyway, as much a I love Jason he’s not the only main character .

message 18: by Rain (new)

Rain | 20 comments Oh 320 pages is good. That’s about how many pages I hope my book will have when I’m finished. Also, thank you! Your book sounds really amazing also, whenever or if it’s published I want to be one of the first to read it!

message 19: by Emary (new)

Emary Sorry it has been SO long since I posted here! I’ll give you a synopsis, sorry for the such late reply 🙏😬🤦🏼‍♀️

So it’s a YA SF/F, as you know. It’s dual POV. One POV is a boy living in poverty under the imperial rule of a once-ally country. He has witnessed so much death and torture in the past ten years. He tries to get by after his dad’s unexpected ... or expected ... death, but later falls short when his sister is kidnapped for the same reason his dad died. The other POV is the princess of the imperial country. She has sustained many years of abuse from her young stepmother, the queen. It’s hopeless to tell anyone because they don’t believe her, scold her, and then the beatings are less bearable. Besides this, she can’t understand her country’s cruel ways toward the poverty-stricken country. But finally she gets the courage to tell half the nation of her feelings, her opinion on it all. They believe she’s mentally disabled and ship her off to a mental institution. The boy finds himself at the insane asylum on his rescue mission to save his kidnapped sister. But when he first witnesses the princess, it unfolds his dreams, nightmares, and the supernatural.

So that’s a quick summary! (Well, not too quick.) I just pray that you respect my rights to this work. Thanks! 🙏
