On the last page Odhinn sees mother and daughter swimming towards each other. Seems clear to me.

Did Maeva live?
Odhinn had a serious sense of purpose, as did Helgar (who helped O reach M). It seems they thought they were saving M.
Odhinn is a god - the supreme god in Norse mythology - so perhaps despite being so weak upon his arrival, his life force / his sacrifice still saved her. Or was his arrival just a romantic reunion as they die together?
