Kel and Josh made it to the desert; Kel stopped, gasping hard. "This will be a long day," he groaned, and turned to him. "You had to run on that leg, how are you doing?"

Kel shook her head. "I don't know about that."

Cress grinned, "Look who's here."

Kel gaped and glanced up. "We come in peace, not looking for trouble," she stated, hands up. But she got worried about Josh, with his injuries, and didn't like careers. And yet here they were.

Kyrstin raised her eyebrows. "What district?"

Kel tightened her lips. "Twelve. I am, anyway, I don't know about Josh..." She eyed Cress's bow and arrows. "Can I take the bow and arrows? I'll give you the spear as a trade."

"Spears are useless, we already ahve one. I'm keeping the one useful weapon we have." Cress said.

"Fine." Kel nodded. "You can do that." She took Josh's arm. "Come on, we can find somewhere else to go, somewhere in another area of the desert."

Cress watched them. "I'd hurry if you don't want an arrow in his back!"
