This challenge is to see if you can find all the words listed below within your reading for the month. You do not need to preselect a level.

The maximum number of words for each book is THREE. There is no page limit.

0-3 words : better luck next time
3-5 words : warming up
6-8 words : getting hotter
9-10 words : CHAMPION hunter!

June
blast
cage
craft
film
gate
mutant
pretty
summer
tacos
wire

Bonus
For our over-achievers who just need some extra words because the above weren't enough...

Unlike with the 10 words above - you must find the EXACT word to claim these bonus words, and I try to make them hard.

bean
consultant
faulty
filth
soar

and a bonus bonus
sphere

To prove that you have found the word, please quote the page, percentage or LOC (Kindle) and include the sentence in which it appears.

Audiobooks are allowed so long as you can quote the page/%/LOC and the sentence. (Eg Using whispersync or finding that sentence in some other way.)

You must find the actual word or the word's root word must be at the core with the meaning essentially remaining the same ~ just turned into a noun, adjective, adverb etc. No prefixes or hyphenated extensions. An extension is allowed where it is often the accepted spelling eg goodbye or good-bye.

Where a word has more than one meaning, either meaning may be used. Eg coast (beachfront) or coast (moving without effort) etc

Please post all entries, updates, final posts and questions in this thread.

RULING for the BONUS words
If you are one of those super-cray-cray/OCD/overly ambitious/organised or bored readers who wish to find words from PRIOR months that are missing in addition to the current month's words, you may use an additional three (3) words per book. These can only be allocated to prior month words.

So you may allocate three words per book to the current month's words, AND three words per book if those words are from PRIOR months' and have been carried forward.

Examples for 'Reversal'
Reverse - Laser Visions √ 15 May
p50-51 : There were a couple of bands Tam had that this person didn't, but none in the reverse.

Reversing - Sunset √ 10 Jul
p204 : Reversing his grip on his katana, he held it out to Nick.

Jane (PS) | 24372 comments Tips for finding words - courtesy of Jennifer ♔Princess Penguin♔

Using Google books:
~Go here https://books.google.com/bkshp?hl=en&...
~Type in the name of your book
~Select your book
~On the left about midway down there will be a search bar, type your word in there.

Couple of things you need to know...
~you need to check every variety of the word you want so, let's say GROUP doesn't show up you would also need to type in GROUPS/ED/ING
~Unfortunately, 99% of the books on Google does not list page numbers (at least in my experience)

Using Amazon:
~You search for your book
~Once on your book page make sure you are on a version that is paperback or hardcover (Kindle editions will not work)
~On the left there will be a picture of your book and it should have "Search Inside" above it
~Click on the book and the search bar will be inside

You will not need to search separately for plurals but you will still need to search separately for -ed and -ing

***
You can also search for words in all the books loaded on your Kindle.

On the home page, use the 'search' function.
~ type in the word and select 'search my items'.

Bonus Bonus: 0/1

The Forest of Hands and Teeth 🌈🌈🌈
♊Craft - Since I dropped the baby from the window I haven’t allowed myself to speculate about the children who once ate at the table downstairs, the men who crafted the weapons, the women who preserved each fruit and vegetable, meticulously planning for a siege they would never live long enough to endure. pg. 203
♊Gate - And so the widow was escorted to the fence where three Guardians held her until she succumbed to the infection, and then pushed her through the gate just before she died and Returned Unconsecrated. pg. 9
♊Summer - It is his attention I have been trying to catch throughout the summer, his friendship I have wanted to turn into something more. pg. 4

The Selection 🌈🌈🌈
♊Pretty - Lines creased the corners of her eyes, though she was still pretty young, and I could see as she moved around the kitchen that she was hunched over as if an invisible weight rested on her shoulders. Loc. 91
♊Wire - Our money was stretched as tight as a high wire, and our income was highly dependent on the changing seasons. Loc. 71

The Farm: A Novel 🌈🌈🌈
♊Mutant - A single twig cracking in a forest is enough. One mutant cell. 67%
♊Bean - They lived in New Jersey in a big house with a bean-shaped pool in the backyard. 40%

Eragon 🌈🌈🌈🌈
♊Filth - Everything was scrupulously clean, as if the owner spent his leisure time digging in obscure crannies for minuscule pieces of filth. pg. 11
♊Soar - When they found a clearing, he would settle against a tree and watch the dragon soar through the air. pg. 44

The Last Final Girl 🌈🌈
♊Blast - Out on the field, the quarterback, who can hear the cheering from the bus, nods, steps back to punt the ball in pure, unadulterated joy, blasting it up into the sky, so it hangs, hangs, hangs some more, and somewhere under that perfect spiral punt, a montage is going on, complete with gearing-up music: pg. 266
♊Cage - To the driveway, both these expensive cars cocked at wrong angles in the driveway, Jigsaw-brand metal cages booted around each of their outside rear tires, big enough that the metal’s chewed up into the fender, is permanently snarled in place, Izzy’s dad sitting on the border of a flowerbed in his rumpled suit, a half-emptied bottle in his hand, Izzy’s mom walking up the driveway, looking out into the road. pg. 292
♊Film - Then it moves to pure, adrenaline-pumping horror before jumping to what reads like the best intellectual tribute to campy zombie films. pg. 2

1. BLAST — The Mummy by Max Allan Collins ✓ 2 June
p. 18: Then, in one last all-pervasive golden flash, and a blast of wind that should have (but did not) created a sandstorm, the mummy fell back to earth, where Anck-su-namun's remains suddenly revealed themselves as no longer shapely, but shriveled, twisted, and grotesque, as if even the final few vestiges of beauty had been siphoned from her.

2. CAGE — The Mummy by Max Allan Collins ✓ 2 June
p. 56: The warden ushered them toward a barred cage that would not have been out of place in a monkey house at a zoo; the heavily barred pen was attached to the prison wall, where presumably a prisoner would be brought out to meet with visitors.

3. CRAFT — The Mummy Returns by Max Allan Collins ✓ 3 June
p. 136: While the style of the river craft and the costumes of the dock workers were unchanged since the pharaohs, the freight and passenger cars that rolled over that bridge carried people whose clothing was contemporary in manner, European in style, but for the occasional native fez.

4. FILM — The Mummy by Max Allan Collins ✓ 2 June
p. 184: A breeze drifted in the open window along with the sounds of flute and tambourine music from the tavern across the way, creating pleasant images of veiled belly dancers in Henderson's mind, filmy curtains fluttering, like the arms of a native girl gesturing seductively to him.

5. GATE — The Mummy Returns by Max Allan Collins ✓ 3 June
p. 130: Like a champion hurdler, O'Connell vaulted the traffic gate and ran after the limo, right up the ever-steepening, rising bridge.

6. MUTANT —

7. PRETTY — The Mummy Returns by Max Allan Collins ✓ 3 June
p. 136: Meela gazed at Alex with what might have been fondness, moving toward him, fluidly—she was so pretty, and her expression was affectionate, yet she still scared him, for some reason.

8. SUMMER — The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor by Max Allan Collins ✓ 4 June
p. 30: "Of course," he said, his voice, his manner, as calm as a summer day.

9. TACOS — Seasoned With Love by Melinda VanLone ✓ 8 June
LOC 101: I could eat a dozen more of those tacos.

10. WIRE — The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor by Max Allan Collins ✓ 4 June
p. 40: Could you get me the wire cutters?

Bonus
1. BEAN — Physical Forces by D.D. Ayres ✓ 7 June
LOC 812: Narrow of face and body, he was a string bean with hips so slim that not even a belt could keep his pants up.

2. CONSULTANT — Called into Action by Paris Wynters ✓ 5 June
LOC 4406: The sheer white stockings the bridal shop consultant said she had to wear soon followed.

3. FAULTY — Deadly Deception by T.J. Logan ✓ 13 June
LOC 3363: Because, like an idiot, he'd jumped to the stupid fucking conclusion that the intel she'd provided Marconi was faulty.

4. FILTH — Deadly Secret by T.J. Logan ✓ 10 June
LOC 4031: Concealed beneath layers of filth and distrust, her beautfy called to him like a temptress's song.

5. SOAR — Called into Action by Paris Wynters ✓ 5 June
LOC 1521: The big windows had been added so he could have adequate daylight, the high ceiling that allowed his creativity to soar, the kiln oven that transformed his work from blobs of clay into lasting pieces, and sculptures of wood, clay, and metal, some finished, but many in various stages of production.

Bonus bonus
1. SPHERE — The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor by Max Allan Collins ✓ 4 June
p. 230: Er Shi Huangdi strode down the flame-lighted pathway and up the great staircase to stand before the altar, where, in one sweeping gesture, he raised all five elements—a spinning ball of fire, an orb of ice, a sphere of molten metal, a ball of mud, and another of rich-grained wood.

1. LOCUST — The Mummy by Max Allan Collins ✓ 2 June
