I loved the sci-fi aspect of the book! I liked how the book was futuristic without going into a bunch of sciency details that made my brain go numb from boredom. I also really liked the detail that the Marissa Meyer included about how the whole world was after World War IV.

My favorite part? (view spoiler)[Hands down, for sure, it's when Cinder shows up dirty, oil covered, grimy and looking like she just survived a car accident (because she just did) to the royal ball and Kai without hesitation swooped in and declared that she's still his personally invited guest and is most welcomed. The look on Cinder's step mom's face was pure gold! It was so sweet for him to still insist that she was welcome even after she asked him if it was alright while they were dancing after he whisked her away from her nasty family. (hide spoiler)]

Definitely! I liked the fact that it was more science fiction-y without being in your face and unrealistic, if you know what I mean. It added a nice twist to the story that at first sight seems weird but actually worked so well!

That’s so true! I like how the sci-fi was just a cool side addition instead of ruling the plot. I was definitely surprised when I first read it though. But then it added a cool element to the world building. :)

Blown away by this retelling--and I never read sci fi. A skilled and clever writer.

I adore when they do mash-ups that way! The way they handled the whole "slipper at the ball" scene killed me! 😂

I love this book. It is so good and I was hesitant to read this book because of the cyborg aspect to it. I was very quickly invested in this book. I just bought the audiobooks of all 4 of the books in the series.
