Forgotten in Death
This sounds like two previous booksConspiracy: Paper flowers reminds me of the case where Eve was suspended. Didn't one of the sidewalk sleepers make paper flowers?
Concealed: Roarke's building is going to have a lot of Roarke and Eve time. He will take the crime personally.
Can't wait.

No the first one was Loyalty and that was where Eve lost a cop friend to Cassandra
Seth wrote: "No the first one was Loyalty and that was where Eve lost a cop friend to Cassandra.."No it is Conspiracy. "And Snooks he sells his paper flowers sometimes, and we get some brew or smoke and mind our own business."
I'm surprised you don't remember this one. I could have sworn you commented on Eve losing her badge in previous posts.

More like I avoid both that book and Loyalty by choice, y'all may not agree with me, but 1999 was not a very good era for Nora Roberts.
Nora’s putting out some teasers!
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1
1. So…maybe the vid is not so bad if it gets you the proper coffee order.
2. Roarke is a popular man in several departments.
3. We get an IHP update (and I’m not going to spell out the acronym)
THURSDAY, SEPT 2
1. He may now be legit, but Roarke can still admire talent on the other side.
2. Mamas do, indeed, have their GD ways.
3. Reinforcement that at least the Icove vid will bring out the good coffee. Plus it’s never going to end since the Red Horse Legacy is making the rounds.

I have to buy the In Death books and audios. I need the ebook because I highlight and make notes throughout. I save two credits for Feb and Sept releases because I listen to this series over and over again.
I don't want to really be a downer on this, but Faithless was probably her best work on this series, I'm having this nagging feeling that this installment will be average at best.

Keep guessing! lol
Keep guessing! lol
Could it have something to do with Mavis' baby in the oven. Or maybe Irish something to do with Roarke.
It's spelled out for you in the book and it's funny. If it helps any, think of things Eve would say. I can tell you, but I'm guessing you'd rather keep guessing. lol
I definitely stands for idiot in my case because I can't remember. I guess I didn't pick up on it. ...... Now I need to go reread it again. Oh darn... :)
They succeeded in sparking interest ( not that it is needed in this group). Now that I know it is Eve talking, idiot must be the first word.

I just got my audio cy. I've always enjoyed the ID books and look forward to a "visit" with Eve & Roarke. And this book is even better than I expected. Am about a third of the way through and loving it. Enjoy!
Going to collect my paper copy from the shop tomorrow. We are in Lockdown (eleven weeks and counting) so I have ordered it online and can collect it from the door of the shop. The things we have to do when even the library is closed.
I was disappointed to be 18th in line for this book at my library, even when placing a hold before the release date. With a 21 day loan I would have been waiting a long time!! But, I was very excited when I looked on Scribd, not expecting to find Forgotten in Death and there it was! It took me a couple of books, but now I really enjoy the ID audibles, Susan Ericksen does a great job.
I just finished this and I have to say this was a great installment. One of the more enjoyable recent ones.-I loved that there were two very different cases.
-I loved that Eve managed to not only send the murderers to justice but also went a little extra mile for each of her victims and got them some additional vindication from wrongs done to them while they were alive.
-I loved the little seed JDR planted about (view spoiler). I have a feeling that seed is going to sprout down the line and we'll hear more about that.

What an interesting idea....there are a few characters I wouldn't mind meeting again in another book. I loved the book.

I loved all those things too. I was curious about the spoiler you posted. I wondered if that was a tease.
Just started it today I’m on the lookout for the abbreviation! If I know I’ll be excited!! So excited to crack it!
Mdy wrote: "I still haven't figured out IHP -- any more tips."You will know it as soon as you read the sentence.
Just finished and loved it, even though I figured out the mystery of the body in the wall early on. Interview was fun.
We were really close with IHP!
We were really close with IHP!

OK....for the rest of us....where are the clues to IHP????

Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains—in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing—unearthed by recent construction work. She isn’t happy when she realizes that the scene of the crime belongs to her husband, Roarke—not that it should surprise her, since the Irish billionaire owns a good chunk of New York. Now Eve must enter a complex world of real estate development, family history, shady deals, and shocking secrets to find justice for two women whose lives were thrown away…

Spoiler Info

The dead woman found in the bricked-in cellar was Johara Murr. She was Bolton’s first love when he was pursuing music. She got pregnant but left him to seek approval from her family. She sent him a letter saying she was staying away and would give the baby up for adoption. We later learned that Elinor had visited her parents and convinced them to talk her into giving up the baby, which they did. But Johara went to live with an aunt and the two of them changed her mind. She contacted Elinor in an effort to get her to accept her and the baby. Elinor had her come to New York and met at the site. She shot her and made J. B. wall her in. Bolton sold the property to Roarke without first consulting her.
Tovinski killed Alva because she saw him and Carmine stealing from the company. Carmine lost it when he saw Tovinski kill her so he later killed him. He was also embezzling from Yuri. He also had three mistresses and three children by them (one on the way). He took a deal to avoid retribution from Yuri. He got two life sentences, no chance for parole, with a new identity.
Alva was a battered wife and escaped, getting a new identity. She kept notebooks, some that documented all the years of abuse by her husband. Eve got him 10 years in jail. (hide spoiler)]
