Clear My CouchJuly 1 - September, 30, 2021
Yes! Ever since I saw this challenge topic I have been standing outside it going "Open. Open. Open." I read a lot of library books just in general, but I've kind of been stalled on a big stack of them. And I buy books from Abebooks all the time and then I don't get them read. My goal is to read the ten library books I currently have sitting next to my couch and let's say five of the used books I've bought that are also sitting next to my couch. This will be the 'clear my couch' challenge!

Updated msg 3Just cleared my first library book - While Justice Sleeps by Stacey Abrams. This was the perfect read for the 4th of July weekend. The writing is clear, and while the plot bogged down just a bit in the middle, it picked back up for a satisfying conclusion. I particularly appreciated the view on the law and our country - it’s a tightrope I feel I walk daily. Abrams’ expressed it beautifully. “America is a contradictory and precocious country . . . We have, in a very short period of time, managed to comment venal sibs against our own people and offer the world repeat examples of exceptionalism. Americans are greedy, brilliant, ambitious, and compassionate. We like to remind everyone about our genius, and yet our leaders make fun of smart people. In less than two centuries, we took over more than half a continent, placed a man on the moon, and invented the Clapper. I enjoyed the contrasts.” Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Let's recycle some books! For this challenge you may read anything you want, and we have only one rule: the books should be 'recycled'.
This means that you can borrow them from a library or friend/relative, get them from a second hand store, or pass your copy to someone else. You can choose to read physical copies, but e-books and audiobooks also count for this challenge!
This challenge was inspired by Zeejane and D.L. Our challenge leader is Navya.
