Challenge Corner discussion

Alessandra is tired of being overlooked, but she has a plan to gain power:

1) Woo the Shadow King.
2) Marry him.
3) Kill him and take his kingdom for herself.

No one knows the extent of the freshly crowned Shadow King’s power. Some say he can command the shadows that swirl around him to do his bidding. Others say they speak to him, whispering the thoughts of his enemies. Regardless, Alessandra knows what she deserves, and she’s going to do everything within her power to get it.

But Alessandra’s not the only one trying to kill the king. As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen—all while struggling not to lose her heart. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen?

Ch 23 (view spoiler)[Oh man she almost has the world at her fingertips and won’t have to kill him…. But yet she won’t have him ☹️ And now who knows what’s going to happen if it’s found out she killed Hector! (hide spoiler)]

Ch 28 (view spoiler)[Omg I was literally just thinking I hope she tells him what she had planned and now this…… nooooooooooo 😭😭 honestly I love the heroine and her bad self. She’s a bitch, badass and a rebel in a world where women are beneath men. At this point I’m loving this book, did not expect this! (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[I loooooove this. Alessandra was such a powerful and devious heroine. Definitely the anti hero of the book, borderline villainous and for me that’s what made the book so good. I’m kinda shocked by his brother being alive and being Leandros, did not see that coming as he was kinda sweet and likable but apparently a better actor than even the heroine. Really wish we had a epilogue though 🥺 (hide spoiler)]

That’s what drew me into this book so much, she’s no innocent that’s for sure.

I was so sad it just ended like that. But yeah I loved it too, glad I didn’t let the mixed reactions of the book keep me from reading!

Haven't had a chance to start this one yet.

Chapters 1-7 (view spoiler)[Okay, I’m liking the Robin Hood that being thrown into this one. I hope that has a more significant part in this book. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 8-14 (view spoiler)[ I’m not sure how I feel about this. But it’s interesting that he doesn’t want to touch anyone in fear of dying, but it makes complete sense after seeing what happened to his parents and brother. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 15-21 (view spoiler)[Someone definitely did that on purpose so he would lose his shadow. Questioning if it’s the Robin Hood guy. Also I like how close they have been getting so I’m interested to see how he will react to her physically now that there is nothing preventing him. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[I ended up really enjoying this one. I wasn’t expecting at all that it would be his brother that was trying to kill him, but I’m glad that she proved to him that she loved him and that he showed up and wanted to be with her. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I like this set up. It's funny when I started listening I was not into it at all so I stopped then when I picked it back up and restarted I was into it. I'm guessing she's going to fall for him and not kill him but I really enjoy the assassin set up. I like how shameless she is about men and what she wants. (hide spoiler)]

Well good job me accidentally clicked on the wrong spoiler and now know who Robin Hood is 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
(view spoiler)[ The sexual tension between them is fun. I like how she told all the ladies sex is fine and they are all now gossiping about it. I don't think Hector's death will end that easy for her but I liked that strategy. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I enjoy that after everything that was how it happened. Obviously they were spotted and that was manufactured. This ability is so odd. I don't know how others managed with it. I'm wondering if he's somehow going to get it back. (hide spoiler)]
