message 26: by Pam (new)

Pam Patrick | 4 comments Sign me up again this year please! Right now I'm reading book 8 of the Outlander series, Written in My Own Heart's Blood, by Diana Gabaldon, at a whopping 814 pages. Seems long, but since several of the first 7 books were upwards of 1000 pages, this one should go by quickly. :-)

Good taste, I am a big Jo Nesbo/Harry Hole fan and also loved The Pillars of the Earth series (there’s 4 books now because he wrote a prequel last year).

Welcome to Big Book Summer, Karen! I really enjoyed Middlemarch when I read it for book group - took me a month to finish it, but it was worth the time! She's a very clever, witty writer, and her observations of human nature are just as relevant today. There's another participant here reading it this summer, too. Enjoy!
