Will definitely be participating by reading Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. I also plan to read Sunflower Sisters. by Martha Hall Kelly. There will probably be more to add later.

I’m in! This is a great motivator. My picks are “Anna Karenina” and “Middlemarch.” It’ll be a relief to get them off my TBR pile. Thanks for the incentive.

I'm in! I've started reading Great Circle and started listening to These Truths: A History of the United States. I, too was thinking about The Lord of the Rings. We'll see about that last one.

Welcome to Big Book Summer, Linda! Sounds like a good plan so far - I need to pick out my Big Book audios.

Sign me up again this year please! Right now I'm reading book 8 of the Outlander series, Written in My Own Heart's Blood, by Diana Gabaldon, at a whopping 814 pages. Seems long, but since several of the first 7 books were upwards of 1000 pages, this one should go by quickly. :-)

28 Summers was supposed to be last year but the group concluded before I could start it

Finishing off Cockroaches by Jo Nesbø, after which The Pillars of the Earth await!

Good taste, I am a big Jo Nesbo/Harry Hole fan and also loved The Pillars of the Earth series (there’s 4 books now because he wrote a prequel last year).

I am excited to join in the summer fun.

Pillars of the Earth was the very first book that inspired me to start Big Book Summer!

Welcome to Big Book Summer, Karen! I really enjoyed Middlemarch when I read it for book group - took me a month to finish it, but it was worth the time! She's a very clever, witty writer, and her observations of human nature are just as relevant today. There's another participant here reading it this summer, too. Enjoy!

I feel so left out - seems like all the Booktopians are reading Great Circle right now! I just listened to Emily describe it on Book Cougars, and it sounds great - enjoy!

I’ve read Great Circle already (before this challlenge) and enjoyed it. I think everyone will like it. It seems to be the book of the summer

Welcome to another Big Book Summer, Deb! Seems like every Booktopian but me is reading Great Circle! I better get myself a copy!

I feel like I should change my book choice to the Great Circle. I’m falling prey to fear of missing out.

I just realized I never posted here! I signed up on your blog, but here is my GR sign up! I just finished reading the first two chapters of my first big book, NO ANGEL by Penny Vincenzi.
