That's a good question. And one I didn't think of.I think after all that's happening it's could be possible but I almost want to say not. I think it happened as it says in the book.
Looking at the tight group of friends, who the parents were and what was expected to happen to these boys, yeah it's possible that Connor was recruited for more than his own abilities. Does that factor into what is happening 20 years later? Maybe. Someone is definitely playing a long game and this group of friends is at the heart of it.
I agree. I didn't think of it at the time but it makes sense that there is something else going on. But 20 years? That would definitely be a long game...lol
I didn't think about this at the time although I did think it was a little suspicious. It could be part of the current events. Everyone knew Zach's plan to be president. It is a little convenient that there are so many connections among the parents/spouses/etc. Connor's recruiter could have him as a backup plan for something. Now Connor is suspended and Mad's death is suspicious.
I was very intrigued by the CIA recruiter. We don't find out who he is, so I have to wonder if he isn't connected to what's going on.Considering some of the revelations in this book, there is definitely some long game going on and I think it can be traced back to Zack's childhood at the very least.
I took the recruiter at face value until I reached the end of the story and realized that there is a very long game, dating back to Zack’s childhood in Russia. Dax’s father was somehow involved and Dax is Connor’s best friend, and vice versa. Looking back, this felt more orchestrated.
