Pearl huffed as she opened the door to the dorm room, she was very annoyed. Her dad hadn’t been very forthcoming with goodbyes, and basically said she was grounded for the rest of her life if she even looked at a boy wrong while at school. Well what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him, Pearl wasn’t going for a boy, she was going for a girl. If anyone even qualified to be her girlfriend. There would be a lot to check off, and she wasn’t afraid to let it be known what she liked and didn’t like. Pearl looked around the room, she knew which bed she wanted immediately and went to set her stuff down on it. Tucking her wings in tight she adjusted her tank top and her jean shorts. Pearl took off her flip flops and put them beneath her bed, out of the way. Pearl liked things to be out of sight. Her dad said that hiding things didn’t mean it just disappeared, she disagreed. If she couldn’t see it, well then it was gone. Pearl sat on the edge of her bed looking at her nails, wondering who her roommate would be.

About five minutes later, the door opened again, and Caledonia walked inside. She'd stopped by after running into that Ollie jerk earlier to just drop her things off, but hadn't claimed a bed or stayed in the room.
Now, she entered on some communication device--a phone of sorts, but not her personal cell--typing furiously, her brown hair pulled back. A bit of sweat still covered her decently-muscular body from her workout, and she had headphones hanging out of her pocket, the bulge of her actual phone outlines in her leggings.
After a second, she stopped typing and looked up. "Hi," she greeted. "You must be Pearl."

The room was quiet, too quiet. Pearl pulled out her phone to play some music, but then someone walked in, she rose a brow. The other girl was deep into whatever device she had in her hand. She looked up and said hi, somehow she knew her name already? Weird. “Hi.... just who are you exactly? My roommate or what ?” She didn’t want some random girl walking into her room and doing whatever she wanted. She also didn’t think it was fair that she knew Pearls name and she didn’t know her name. Just who was this girl ? And why was she all sweaty?

"Oh, sorry." Caledonia set aside the device, sliding it deep into her pocket. She offered her hand to be polite, having washed her hands after being at the gym--and she'd needed to wash her hands; she'd beaten up that punching bag until her knuckles had bled out of raw fury. "Yeah, I'm your roommate. Caledonia." Even as she offered her hand, her green eyes did a quick intake of the room and of her roommate. She didn't like the 'just who are you exactly', because it was too similar to Ollie's words, but she didn't let it show.

Pearl glanced at the hand that was being held out, she almost blew it off instead she shook her hand, “Hey.” She said simply, not really acknowledging Caledonia. She looked like someone that Pearl was not going to get along with. Of course she shouldn’t judge her so quickly. She decided to give her a chance, “Were you working or something?” She asked wrinkling her nose at the sweat covering her roommates body. She wished the other girl would go shower or something.

Taking her hand back after, the brunette nodded. "Yeah. I just got back from the gym, and then I was catching up on other work." She studied her roommate's face; the nose wrinkle caught her attention, and she sighed, already telling that Pearl didn't seem to be the friendliest tool in the shed. "What, do you not go to the gym?" She asked. "Or does the flying count as your exercise? You have wings, right?"

“I exercise plenty,” Pearl answered with annoyance clear in her voice. “Working these wings is a lot of work,” she spread the black wings out a little. Letting Cal see what the looked like, then she folded them back against herself, not wanting to take up the entire side of her room. “I just know how to shower properly afterwards for the good of the rest of the population,” Pearl didn’t both trying to sugar coat her opinion, she knew she could come off as rude, but she wasn’t trying to impress anyone. They either liked her or didn’t, it wasn’t her problem either way.

"Fair. Those are pretty neat." She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, eyes on Pearl and kind of amazed at her wings. "Well, I was going to shower, but I don't have my things with me in the gym," Caledonia answered with a slight eye roll. "So what's the big deal, you can't handle a little dirty?"
After she spoke, she pushed off the wall and knelt by her backpack. She unzipped it and opened it, reached inside, and unlocked a box. She placed the device she had been holding inside the box and then snapped it shut, all while never taking the box from her backpack. She zipped the backpack up again and then took her phone and ear buds from her pocket and tossed them onto her unmade bed.
"Or be a little nicer?" The words slipped out before she could think about it.

That made sense, she didn’t have her shower things, Pearl could understand that. Maybe she shouldn’t have snapped like she had. She was about to apologize when Cal made a comment about her being a little nicer, which irked her in a way she could not deny. “Maybe I had a bad day, maybe you don’t know what I’ve been through today. Sorry if I was a bitch, but maybe you could cut me some slack, okay?” Pearl rolled her eyes and scrolled through her phone.

"Okay, fine," Caledonia stated sharply. "But it goes the same way. Don't make dumb comments about my need to shower, I'm not one of those jerks who goes to bed sweaty." She rolled her eyes again and began to unpack; once everything was in place, she'd head to the bathroom and shower, already absolutely hating this place.

Pearls cheeks went pink with anger, she didn’t make “dumb” comments, she made very intelligent s ones, thank you very much. Maybe the truth was just too much to handle for some people. Pearl lanced Cals way, “I think some princesses need to give up their crown,” she muttered under her breath. “I never said you were gross by the way,” she spoke louder. “I just thought you were going to hang out in that,” she waved a hand to her body in general, “My bad.”

"I'm not a princess," Caledonia responded flatly. "And fine, point taken, I'm going to shower soon." She sighed and turned around, trying to control herself. "Can we start over? We're roommates, this is going to be a shit year if we can't get along."

Did she really care if her roommate was unhappy with her? The answer was simple, no. Though she did have a point, if they were going to be roommates for the entire year they should probably go ahead and try to figure out how to make this work. “Fine, sorry about my comments,” She said through gritted teeth. Pearl took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, her dad would beat her ass if he knew she was being this way anyway. She turned to her roommate and gave her a real, small smile. “I hope we can recover from this and actually get along. Dad wanted me to make friends this year, I guess the two of us should try for that since we have to live together.” Pearl didn’t think it would actually happen, they would probably fight more often than not.

Caledonia nodded, even though she was pretty sure Pearl was, in fact, not that sorry. "Thanks. Sorry, too." She gave her a small smile in return, seeing her roommate initiate one. "I do, too. Your dad and my mom both." She tilted her head and then sat down at the end of her bed and made sure to remove her shower things so Pearl wouldn't think she was forgetting about her promise to shower. "This year? Is this your first year here?" She asked, already knowing the answer but deciding her doing background checks on people had caused enough problems already.

“Yes it is my first year here,” She replied, she reached into one of her luggage bags and removed some clothes, she might as well get unpacked while they talked. She glanced over, Pearl was glad to see that Caledonia was getting her shower things together. She wouldn’t be able to handle a stinky roommate, they would have to change roommates if that happened. “Is this yours?” She asked, figuring returning the question was only polite. Plus it kept the room from going into an awkward silence. Pearl folded her shirts neatly on the bed and moved them to the dresser next to her bed. She found a few pictures of her and her family, she pinned them to the wall next to her bed, she had very few pictures of her family, looking at her dad, in his usual stance and blank face. He was a master at keeping his emotions in check, Pearl however was the exact opposite.

She nodded, and then took out her towel and rolled her shower stuff up inside of it. "Yeah. I haven't been to school since I was nine, so this should be interesting."
Caledonia them slipped off the bed and opened her suitcase, removing a pair of jeans and a shirt for after her shower.

“Wait like you haven’t had any education since you were nine or you just haven’t been in school since you were nine?” Pearl would be shocked if she hadn’t had any education since she was nine, she had no idea how the other girl expected to make it here if that was the case. Pearl had had personal tutors her entire life, but she’d also lived in a city that was fairly exclusive and had plenty of playmates after school was finished for the day. Most of the children where she was from were tutored at home.
Pearl got up from her place on the bed, and looked out the window, “Do you think there are any activities to do around here? Or are we stuck inside while we wait for classes to start tomorrow?”

"I was..." Caledonia didn't know how much to say. How much she wanted to say. "I left school when I was nine, and I continued classes online through...age sixteen. I'm not dumb, though. Just...I'm more of a street smart kind of person."
She sat her shower stuff to the side and then removed from one of the cheats a large, locked box. She slid it into her closet and then placed another on top of it.
She removed her gun from her back pocket and placed it safely in one of the cheats before grabbing a pocket knife and sliding it in with her shower stuff.
"I think there's stuff. Gym is open. Library, maybe grab some books. There's a town--laser tag and some other stuff."

The girl had a gun, a fucking gun. To be fair Pearl had an Illyrian sword tucked into one of her chests, but she didn’t just walk around with it here. This was supposed to be a safe place, right ? She chewed on her bottom lip, wondering if she should say something, she opted for no. She’d already had words with Cal and she didn’t want to ruin their relationship so soon, though she did thing the other girl was a little crazy. “I might go check out something later, I’m gonna take a nap for now,9 pearl went over to her bed and laid down, her wings closed around her, cocooning her, she left her roommate to shower.

Caledonia turned. "What? I can feel you staring." She then shrugged. "Okay, have a good nap. I'll be quiet coming in and out." She gathered her shower things after letting her dark hair loose around her shoulders and slid her feet into her shower shoes, before heading out of the room to shower.

Ollie was searching for the girl from earlier , but he hadn’t found dorm 6 yet. He was meandering down the hall, getting strange looks from girls when he saw a familiar face. The girl from earlier! The one that had essentially kicked his ass. Interesting, he jogged a bit to catch up with her,

“Sweetheart, we meet again.” He noticed her shower things in her hand, his grin only grew, “Want company? You wash my back, I wash yours?” He wasn’t exactly close to her, he’d learned from the last time to keep a healthy distance. But he couldn’t help teasing and flirting with her, there was a spark there that he’d like to see ignite.

Caledonia groaned, and didn't hide it, as she turned. "Oh, look, it's the king of the hill. The hell are you doing in this end of the school, anyway? Actually don't answer that, I know exactly what you're doing." Disgust and anger rolled through her gut.

She rolled her eyes at what he said, and then sighed. "Yeah, sounds like a good plan, because I have a really nice back-washing tool, I picked it out myself before I came here." She reached inside her bag and pulled out a silver tube. She pressed a button, and a deadly long knife popped out. "Wouldn't this feel just so....good?"

Ollie chucked a bit, he loved that he was getting a rise out of her. It’s what he lived for, Ollie was about to say something but then the chick was brandishing a knife and he put both hands up in surrender. “Whoa, no one said anything about a knife fight, what are you doing with that babe? Just put the knife down, I’m sure we can work something out. I just wanted to help ya out, ya know? I was just over to visit a friend, but I found you instead. You should feel lucky that I’m taking my time with you instead of some other girl,” he gave her his most charming, innocent looking smile. He knew she was dangerous, but damn she was far more dangerous than he anticipated. Was there no rule against weapons at the school?

"You 'babe' me one more damn time and we're going to have problems," she threatened in an icy voice, and set down her shower things. She was still in her workout gear, flexible and nimble, in the event she had to attack him, muscles on display. "Women aren't just here for your amusement and your pathetic desires, jerk-ass. And lucky? Goodness no, go on and talk to any other girl. I'm not going to flirt with you, and you should know that by now." She casually flipped the knife in her hand, smooth and controlled, suppressing a smirk and looking at him the whole time a cold look in her green eyes. If only her eyes were blue, like her mom's--blue eyes could be even icier, and she could afford that right now.

Ollie couldn’t believe she was dropping all of her stuff to brandish a knife on him. This chick was dangerous, hot, but dangerous. He dropped into a protective stance himself, preparing to defend himself if needed. “Look... we can talk this out princ- erm Girl, we can be calm like normal people,” though it was obvious that there was nothing normal about either of them. She knew who his dad was, yet continued to threaten him, did she not realize the powers he had? He wasn’t about to mention one of them, it was embarrassing. For now though he had to worry about staying alive, “How bout I just walk you to the showers?” He asked trying to seem relaxed, when actually he was on defense, ready to block if need be.

Caledonia tilted her head. "Hmm, how about you get the hell out of the women's hallway?" She stated instead, in a fighting stance herself. "I've killed men before, one gunshot and they're dead. I've incapacitated many more without a weapon," she stated in a cold voice. "And I won't kill you, for obvious reasons, but if you continue to crack jokes like some ten year old, and keep womanizing and hitting on me, I won't hesitate to knock you out, nice and cold, and you can have a nice little nap to think about how bad you've been." She cracked her neck. "So think again."

“What is your name anyway?” He asked with surprise, he hadn’t realized he hadn’t gotten it yet. “And really? One you girls were just in our hallway, what’s the difference? Shouldn’t there be equality or something?” Ollie crossed his arms over his chest, “She was sneaking around our hall and asked me to meet her over here. But now that I think about it, maybe she just wanted me to run into you so that I’d get my ass handed to me”. He didn’t mention “again” but it was implied. “You’re lucky you’re a girl, otherwise our circumstances would be completely different right now.” Ollie took a few steps back, “if you can admit that you have the slightest attraction to me then I’ll leave.”

She actually laughed. "Oh, my gosh, this is hilarious! You must live such a sad, sad life if you're that desperate for female attraction. I have zero attraction to you, and sure, there's equality, and I'm fine with boys in our wing, but not when they're equal predators," she stated, the laugh dying away and she looked him dead in the eyes. "And on that note, you're probably wrong about whatever poor girl you happened to run into."
With an eye roll, Caledonia shook her head. "Oh? How would circumstances be different? So are you going to pretend to be all gallant when in fact you're nothing bit a bag of horse shit? And you don't need to know my name, nor do you deserve it."

Ollie swore beneath his breath, it was likely this girl would go through with her threats and he didn’t need to be expelled. His dad would probably be proud as hell, but it would hurt his mother. He wasn’t willing to do that, even if he did pretend to be hard ass, he still had feelings about his parents.

“You think I’m just trying to get in your pants? I was trying to get to know you too,” He didn’t deny that he was trying to get into her pants at the same time, or that thoughts of a hot, steamy shower hadn’t crossed his mind. He had all of those thoughts and more. There was something definitely different about this girl, and he wished that she would just calm the hell down a little bit so that he could get to know her. He supposed it was kind of his fault that she reacted the way she did though.

"I know that's what you're trying to do," she stated coldly. "And if you were trying to get to know me, then what you really should do, is sit down with someone, man or woman, and have a civil conversation. Women are not your playthings, asshole. Treat us like humans and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't pull a knife on you."

(Lol, when your character is more of an animal than a human XD )

“Maybe I need a teacher to teach me about being a real person, maybe this,” He patted his chest, where his heart was supposed to be, “Is broken. You never know, maybe a girl broke me to pieces and that’s why i am the way i am.” Of course that wasn’t the reasoning, but he’d be damned if he was going to admit that to her. “C’mon princess can’t you just live a little? Give a guy a break?” He was tempted to come towards her, but that knife, well it looked razor sharp. So he continued to keep his distance, not wanting to overwhelm her with his presence.

"I don't care why you are the way you are. If a girl dumped you, good for her and get the hell over it. That's no excuse to be a predator. And no, I'm not a princess, and I'll break you but I won't give you a break."
She didn't let her knife leave his vicinity, or her eyes. She kept them locked on his.

"You think everyone loves you. You're wrong and you're not that cool."

“I know everyone loves me, I don’t think it. You’re just burying those feelings way down deep,” he chuckled before leaning against the wall “You’re the one still standing here talking to me, giving me attention. Which don’t get me wrong, I’m eating it up. But don’t pretend you don’t like me when we’re obviously having a chat here without you walking away,” he had a smug smile on his face as he watched for her reaction, he was actually beginning to like her wit and her threats. She was cute when she was angry, way cuter than most of the girls here, even if she did threaten to kill him one too many times.

Caledonia nodded. If he gained satisfaction from her presence, then she'd remove herself. She turned and walked off. If he wanted attention--and it was clear and evident he did--then she wouldn't give it to him. She opened the door to the bathroom after picking her things up, flipped him off again as she had earlier, and entered the room, still not having told him her name.
But wow, he was a jerk. She'd met or heard of a lot of jerks, people who were killers, people who thought they were saving the world when in fact they were destroying it. But here was a sexist asshole at a boarding school.
Flipping the knife back into it's tube, she sighed. Caledonia sat the tube beneath her towel and then entered a shower stall.

Oliver chuckled some as she flipped up off, “Anytime babe,” he called before turning on his heel and heading out. He wasn’t about to go any further, well maybe he would have, if he knew it was just her in there. He headed out to find somewhere to hang out on campus. He knew him and the girl would meet again, some time. It had to happen, it wasn’t that big of a campus, plus he knew what floor she was on.

(Haha! They’re going to be so good together, eventually! Ummm what about at the gym? Maybe he’s working out? She could still be kissed about pearl, and then him? So she’s like screw it im going back?)

((ooh yeah! Maybe she never actually showers because she's too angry so she goes back to the gym. And I'm so fascinated by how they will get together this will be so crazy but...ahhh!))

But as she stood there, in the stall, she could feel her hands shaking, her heart thudding. Her roommate was a piece of work, at least sometimes, and Ollie? Ooh, she wanted to shoot him.
She could feel the anger in her chest, and she suddenly felt a need to go back, again, to the gym.
Caledonia leaned against the wall and opened her phone.

Caledonia Hayden: "There are jerks everywhere, you know, I'd been wondering what a normal life was like and I suddenly wish I never knew."
Marissa Hayden (Mom): "Just watch out for Rogers and get us what we need. It's just a year and you're not off the radar. But also, yeah."
Caledonia: "Thanks a lot for this."
Mom: "Sorry."
Caledonia: "that's not convincing"
Mom: :)

With a sigh, she stuffed the phone away, grabbed her stuff, and stormed down the hall to drop it off and head to the gym.

Caledonia finally entered her dorm, having showered. The warm water had soothed her a little, relaxing some of the tension in her muscles, and now she was ready to crash, dressed in plaid blue and teal pajama shorts and a looser black shirt. Her hair was down for once, one of the only times she ever wore it down.
She set her things aside and looked over at Pearl. "I showered," she stated flatly. "About an hour later but I still did it."

Pearl awoke to the sound of her roommates voice, she’d been out the entire time that Caledonia had been out of the room. She unfolded her wings and tucked them behind her as she sat up, “Okay,” she muttered and yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. “I was out of it, I guess I really needed a nap,” She said to no one in particular. She glanced over at Caledonia, she was in PJ’s already. “What time is it?’ She’d lost complete track of time and dug her phone out from under her pillows. “Damn,” She didn’t know out was evening already. “Hey do you want a granola bar?” She asked, then noticed the mini fridge, “Or we could see what’s in there?” Caledonia seemed to be in a rotten mood, maybe Pearl had gone too far earlier.

"Sorry I woke you, I should have been more careful." Placed her stuff away and quickly finished setting up her bedding, cursing herself for not doing this sooner.
Once she finished, she slid a pistol under her pillow and then turned her attention to her roommate. "Either works for me, thanks." She paused. "How about both, we get the granola bars and I'll see if there's anything in here." She knelt by the fridge and opened it. "Want an apple or an orange or something?" She called, taking an apple for herself.
Honestly, what she really wanted was a nice glass of wine, but she didn't say that. She technically couldn't have that, but it wasnt like she listened to that rule all the time.
