I remember picking it up a few years ago when I saw it in the library. I didn't make it far in before it was due though.

I got my copy of We Hunt the Flames and hope to start in a few days! I found an ebook copy for only 2.99 but also checked it out from the library 😬😂

I do remember the beginning to be slow and the pace doesn't pick up until the middle. So knowing that maybe is the reason why I'm slacking.

My goal is to make some progress on this today!

Didn't read at all 😂 Got my second dose of the covid vaccine on Friday and have been tired the past few days. Fortunately I'm better now so I should be making some progress today

Finally started reading this again. Just read chapter 4 and (view spoiler)[ I forgot how evil the Sultan is and how ruthless he is with his plans to expand his empire. So far with my reread, I like Nasir's POV more than Zafira. (hide spoiler)]

My goal is to reach page 100 today so I'm aiming to read up to chapter 11

I read up to chapter 11! (view spoiler)[I'm glad the quest is about to start soon! Also, the Sultan is such an awful father... I'm glad that even though Nasir is an assassin, a part of him still wants to help those who are vulnerable. Zafira's backstory about what happened to her dad is very sad. I'm pretty sure they'll explain the scene in a little more details in the upcoming chapters, but from what I remember its terrible what happened to her father. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished reading up to chapter 22 and I'm officially done Act 1! (view spoiler)[ I forgot that Deen decided to go on the trip with them. I'm glad to see them officially starting the quest and I'm looking forward to Zafira and Deen to end up finding out that Nasir and Altair are also going to be there. The scene where that monster was defeated by Altair singing was kind of funny. 😄 (hide spoiler)]

Ok. So I actually got some reading done yesterday and I made it up to chapter 5! (view spoiler)[ Nasir sort of reminds me of Elias from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. They both don't want to be killers even though their evil parents manipulate them to be so. I agree. the Sultan is cruel with his methods and a cruel person in general. I wonder how Nasir might break free. (hide spoiler)]

i just got my copy of we hunt the flame after so many months ah! sorry for being late but i'm at chapter 4 currently and loving where the storyline is going :)

I'm about halfway through and OMG I can't believe I've waited this long. It's soooooo good.

I finished yesterday but haven't had time to update my progress! A solid 4.5 stars for me!

I’m on chapter 14 and I’m semi enjoying it. I like seeing how the storylines are converging so that is satisfying but I don’t know. I don’t feel like a lot has happened at the point that I’m at but I’m looking forward to continuing it to when Nasir and Zafira meet.

I haven't updated in a while... I'm currently on chapter 52 and I'm so glad the pace picked up for me because I wasn't motivated before to reread this. I love the banter from all the characters 😂

Btw if anyone here has read the Wrath and the Dawn, there was a little reference at some point that I enjoyed. (view spoiler)[ Basically Zafira accused Nasir of being with a different women every night, only to kill her by sunrise. I love Nasir's response of, "Fancy yourself Shahrazad, then?". Ok. So I am past Act One and more than halfway through with this book and I’m enjoying it more than before. I’m glad Nasir, Altair, and Zafira have finally met. (view spoiler)[ I was semi-expecting Dean to die but when he did I kind of got sad. Then I said...”Well...that’s one way to get rid of the possibility of a love triangle.” I still felt sorry for Zafira. Even more so when an efrit got her hopes up again. I love the banter between the three and can’t wait to see where it all goes. I will say that since I have been listening to the audiobook I’m sort of lost on the finer details of the plot but understand the overarching one (hide spoiler)]

Forgot to mention I finished my reread on Friday and I ended up keeping my rating of 3.5 stars. My only complaint with the book was the pacing in the first half, other than that it was an entertaining read!

ooh nice! i finished it a while ago forgot to update haha but i enjoyed it and gave it a solid 3 stars, just the first half same as may the pacing was quite a bore but other than that i am hyped for the sequel! <3
