Henry James Discussion Group discussion

The person was complaining that (in "Turn of the Screw") James is too wordy. This is the most common complaint about James, especially the later James. I wonder if the folks in this little group have thoughts about that? When I hear that wordy-complaint, I want to say, "Show me a place where he's being too wordy," and then have a chat about what James is actually Doing With Those Words, which is usually something impressive.
