Read the Movie discussion

There have been quite a few posts on this group lately. Is there enough interest to reopen the group? If so, then may I suggest that in keeping with the 4th of July holiday coming up that we start with "Jaws" by Peter Benchley. I will open up a spot on this message board on the 1st of the month and people can post any comments that they have about the book during the month of July. Someone else can choose a book for August if they want if it seems that people are interested in continuing.

Great, Stephanie! There are several differences between the book and the movie that we can cover in the chat room. Plus Richard Dreyfuss is so young and cute in the film as the expert on sharks, Matt Hooper.

I don't do horror so I'll skip this one, but I'm game for the next book.

Totally understandable. The next book hasn't been decided on, we need to wait and see if this is even something that people want to continue with. Do you have any ideas for the next book?

I really want to read The Martian by Andy Weir or Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, but I'm flexible.

Wasn't The Martian movie with Matt Damon? reason enough right there to pick it :) I'll add it to the list.

Yep, Matt Damon. I think I'm going to be reading The Martian soon regardless. If it is a group read, that is great. If not, fine too.

I'm going to order it from Amazon as well. I'm going to push for it for next month. Stay tuned for further updates :)
