I was born in Oakland, California and raised in the San Francisco East Bay Area towns of San Pablo, El Cerrito, Richmond and El Sobrante.
I've lived in many locations in this state - as far south as Vista (near Oceanside) and as far north as the Klamath River Valley just south of the Oregon border, where I am now. The photo at the top of the group is of the Klamath River. I've also lived near the coast in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, and to the east in Tuolumne City in the Sierra foothills.
It was on my bucket list to someday live out of state, so I went to North Idaho for six years starting in 2013. I came back to California in 2019 for a vacation and have decided that this will be my home base for now, though I plan to do more traveling.
I've always loved California history. That's my favorite type of California reading. I have a blog called Journey! California and it has been my intention to travel around this state writing about it. I haven't done that yet but I'm still heading that direction. I'm having my van converted to a fully self-contained camping vehicle, something close to a Class B RV.
