Adara sat at the Ravenclaw table with her hair in a tight high ponytail, surrounded by loud conversations. Her robes were black and lined with shiny blue, and she wore a pin over where her heart was to show her position as Head Girl. Quiet as always, she seemed to hold an aura of malice around her for most people avoided her. Not like they could prove anything about her being on the Dsrk Side though. However, it proved to be quite entertaining for her

Val seems to be unaware or uncaring of the stares and whispers at the fact that the Gryffindor Prefect, someone who continuously presents as a happy go lucky student who would never turn to the dark side, is skipping over to the Ravenclaw table to sit with the Head Girl who could and would have motive to use Avada Kedarva on them. “Hello there, m’lady! How’s your food?” They ask with a grin.

Adara looked up blankly for a moment before sliding slightly to the right, giving Val space to sit down next to her. “It's good, I do miss the pudding from last night though.” She spoke, her calculating and cold gaze having softened at the sight of the Gryffindor. “And you? Gryffindor has a game against Slytherin right?” She asked.

Val brightens and takes the invitation to sit down next to Adara. “Yeah! I’m sure everyone will do great! I mean, I would’ve applied but I’m not that good under pressure. How are your…” They take a moment to try to think of a good word for ‘research on Dark Arts’ and settle on, “studies… going?”

Adara chuckled at the codeword, turning her body to face Val. “My studies are actually going quite well, there are so many spells that they don't teach us here, you know?” She asked, her eyes brightening slightly at the mention of the dark spells she had been teaching herself. “They’d do much better with you on the team though.” She commented, not leaving any room for discussion.

"I might consider joining in. It seems like an interesting way to spend my time. Y'know, Studying, spendingtimewithyou, good times!" Val says quickly, idly fiddling with their wand. "I mean, if you'd allow it, of course." They giggle sheepishly, a bit scared she'd say no.

Adara blinked at the second reason, thinking that she had probably misheard but let a very rare smile (though it was small) show. “I’d like that. Does the Astronomy tower at night sound good to you? Even Mrs. Norris doesn't like to go up there.” She hopefully offered, her voice quiet though not a whisper. The people around her were very immersed in their conversations, though the odd pair did get some surprised glances and hushed murmurs. Adara did hear bits and snippets of a conversation about her having Imperiod Val.

Val purposefully tuned out the conversations, knowing the dining hall would not be a good place to start a fight, and instead focused on the little smile Adara gave them. "Sure! Even if Mrs.Norris wanted to spy on our research, I have Sleeping Draught on my person at all times." They accept cheerfully, their voice as quiet as a whisper. Even if they used coded language, Val didn't want to take any chances.

Alex sat at the Slytherin table, chin on hand propped up by elbow . She looked bored. She WAS bored. With her other hand, she clicked her nails against the table.
