It's exciting that they're hoping to make a movie about it. I wonder if the story would be better suited to a TV show format?
I've yet to read any of her other books, are there any in particular that you recommend?

Hi Katya,
I am excited that Animorphs is getting a new life. I loved reading them and reading them aloud to students. It was always so much fun. Katherine Applegate is one of my favorite authors.
You cannot go wrong by reading any of her books. She has done a great evolution to books that are deeply profound and meaningful.
You have to read My One and Only Ivan, which also was made into a movie. Have your tissues ready. Based on a true story of a captive gorilla named Ivan, who has been kept in an enclosure at a shopping mall for over 27 years. If you love animals, you will think of animals worldwide who are being kept captive in circuses, zoos, road sideshows, tourist locations etc. and reflect how they are taken from their natural habitats and families. This book won the Newbery Award for children's literature and rightfully so. A powerful book and message about animal welfare.
Also, Crenshaw is another great one. About a boy named Jackson and his family. They find themselves homeless and living in a van. He develops a friendship with a cat named Crenshaw who is imaginary. This imaginary cat helps Jackson navigate through life's challenges and offers the friendship he never knew he needed. Have the tissues handy once more.
Katherine Applegate captures the beauty in children's literature and is fearless in showing readers the important issues that face people, animals, habitats, our very existence.
Quite simply, read all her books.
Have a good day and welcome to Bookclub+ MPC.
Sincerely,
-Donna

I know there some of you out there who were fans of the popular 1990s K.A. Applegate book series "Animorphs" There is going to be a live-action movie based on the series. A story about a group of teenagers who have the incredible power to transform into an animal. They use their powers to help fight against an evil alien species.
I have been a fan of Katharine Applegate books for a very long time. After The Animorphs series, she has continued to write extraordinary books that have been embraced by children and adults. Books with profound messages and meaning, such as Crenshaw, Wishtree, The One and Only Bob, The One and Only Ivan, The Last Endling etc.
Did you read The Animorphs book series?
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna
