I received a note from my sister on a new scam going around on Goodreads. The scammer will post a comment on a review of yours that ends with a fake "more" button. If you click on the button it takes you to an unknown shopping website that has nothing to do with the book. Presumably the link could also install a virus or take you to a virus website. Look at the url associated with links and make sure they make sense before clicking - good advice everywhere on the web.

Yes I have had this happen to me twice. It is very annoying.

I've received five email spam messages in one day. Two of them were supposed to come from my wife (her name was badly written).

Madeleine Myers | 302 comments It's not just here, I have in the past few months reported and blocked hundreds of scam/spam text messages and phone calls on my cell.

Never respond. If you have ATT you can copy the messages and dial 7726, Google also has a reporting system, but it's not easy to use as is the ATT. I hope Goodreads is on top of this--there should be a way for the execs to block them.

In my case, GMail classified automatically all five emails as spam.
