Devon did more for Stacey than the therapist. Devon knows Stacey, and she can put herself in Stacey's shoes. It is a great scene. Devon gives Stacey an opportunity to look at herself from the outside. I was touched.
Yes, often the people who love and know you best are your best sounding boards. Devon was able to be that person for Stacey and let her offload some of her feelings. I still think it was very bad form that some sort of Police Trauma Process wasn't enacted. I'm sure there are procedures in place now for Trauma Counselling for Officers involved in colleague deaths.
Lisa I thought they all had to go to a police therapist. Kim refused and that is why she went to Ted.
Sharon, it was a wonderful scene. Shared experiences and a personal connection put Devon in a unique position to reach Stacey. I particularly loved the way she did it, though…without judgment or accusation. It made a big impression on me and I’m now team Devon. Prior to this scene, I thought maybe she was just a fling.
