"Oh my. I am sorry!" Bella stammered after she had picked herself up from the floor. Of course her first interaction with the other selected begun with her bumping into two of them and ending up on the floor.
"Watch it next time," Cobie snapped. She'd been walking towards the door to get out of this stuffy, forsaken room when someone had slammed into her back.
Bella flinched. The last time some snapped at her was her boyfriend after she confronted him about... stuff
Cobie snorted. She didn't know any of these people's names and didnt care to. "She almost broke my back but yeah. Perfect."
"I said I was sorry," Bella said, her shell that she was hiding in was starting to disappear. Bella crossed her arms over her chest, "You don't have to be so rude".
"A mood? What, as if this place gives you anything to grin at? And yeah, fine, whatever," she muttered to the girl who bumped into her.
(( Could I say Colbie dropped something like a pin maybe?))
Bella noticed something on the ground. "I think you dropped this," Bella said leaning down to pick up the golden pin.
She turned slowly, and when she saw what it was, panic flared through her and she grabbed it and curled her fist around it. "Dont--thank you," she finally bit out.
Bella stood there in shock. Did she just say thank you? Maybe it wasn't a good day for her. "What is your name? Both of you" Bella asked Turing from one girl to the other.
"Bella, Bella Caroll," She responded "and you"?
Cobie pressed the pin into her palm, anxious and furious at herself for dropping it when this girl bumped into her. That pin in the wrong hands could get her killed. "Cobie," she finally answered. Because at the same time she needed to at least not be a total jerk. Had to stay in the competition for at least the next few weeks.
"Those are both pretty names. I have a friend named Cobie." Said Bella. "How did the opening ball go for both of you?"
"Good for you," she replied unenthused. "But Bella is nice too. And the ball was garbage. Honestly, the amount of money in there is ridiculous. Prince was better than expected. You?"
Mae wrote: "((I haven't roleplayed the opening ball yet but I'll just make something up 😅))"((That's okay!))
Aviva shrugged "Nothing out of the ordinary, my parents drag me along to parties and balls often. However, I hadn't met the prince before. How did it go for you?"
"That is true. I see many people on the streets. Me and my family always try too give them food and clothing and money. It's so heartbreaking," Bella said. She blinked away tears. "Oh. My Goodness!" Bella exclaimed her hand flying up to her month. "I never told the prince my name! Now He'll remember me as the awkward girl who left to go read, that is if he remembered me."
"Did you tell him your names?"
"I'm sure that he'll catch your name sometime, he'll remember you now as the mystery girl." Aviva smiled at Bella
"Your parents drag you to balls?" Cobie asked with an eye roll. "Gracious, are you a two?" She asked Aviva with a sneer. And then looked at Bella. She was one of those people, but she wasn't going to say so. "Yes it's terrible and these high end people are too stuck up to care. And I'm sure he won't see you as awkward, he was shockingly nice."
'Do you actually wanna marry the prince?" "I know that must be a odd thing to ask considering we just met. but I don't know. My family encouraged me but if I don't get chosen I won't be heartbroken. That I am sure of". Bella said quietly
'Hi" Bella said noticing the girl who joined them.
"No. I don't want to marry the prince. But if I do then he and I are going to have a lot of work to do." Her eyes flickered to the new girl and she looked back without saying a word.
"Why did you join then? Well I mostly joined because my parents wanted me to give it a chance and we need the money," Bella responded.
"Money," Cobie states immediately. "I'm trying to take care of my sister and my mom. And yeah, maybe you have a chance. You seem nice enough."
"Thanks," Bella said. She didn't know if she wanted a chance to marry the prince. "What is your name," She said turning to the new girl.
Bella Laughed at the girl who had just taken off her heels. "They really are uncomfterable, aren't they?" Bella walked over to the girl and kicked her heels off as well.
Cobie arched a brow. This Sam girl seemed like someone up her alley. She'd already discarded her own heels and stuffed them under her arms. "They're monsters," she told Sam, gesturing to the shoes.
"I agree." The whole thing, the shows, the gown, the caked on makeup, the palace--overwhelming, too much.
"No I don't think so." Cobie didn't think she liked this girl, Aviva. Going to balls, used to heels. She'd be perfect for the prince...maybe. The prince did seem nice enough.
"And yes, the gown is stupid too," Cobie added. She hadn't sat down yet and wasn't planning on it. She managed to slide the pin into a pocket in the gown.
"So, other than the gowns and heels how have you liked the palace so far?" Aviva asked, attempting to get to know the girls a bit better
She hated conversation. But if she had any chance of getting what she needed to, though... "Food and drinks are good."
"I like the library." Bella said
((sorry a wasp got in my room so had to rehome it))
"The gardens are really pretty, a nice little escape. It gets a bit overwhelming here, I don't know how the queen manages to look so perfect all the time" Aviva sighed
"The food is wonderful. Have you ever had chips and guacamole?"
