I realize this has been enjoyed by a number of my reading friends, and I almost liked it, so am rounding it up. BUT it had sunburn in it, so there was no way I was going to dnf this one!

Not going to talk about the story other than I the Green did an excellent job near the end so that the predictable ending was well thought out and more satisfying than it would have been if she hadn't (view spoiler)

I realize there are many factors involved here, and a good friend of mine married a man 12 years our junior (he pursued her and all who knew them were okay with it given how unusually mature, etc, he was and they are still happily married), but I still have a hard time with this sort of thing when they are 14 years apart. This is probably because I have never been attracted to much younger men, and stopped being attracted to teens before I was 20, because as is seen in this case, this young man grew up very quickly and nothing happened before he was legal.

But also, it wasn't really my cup of tea, and I kept wondering why they didn't eat edible seaweed and check for other edible greens, and I don't even watch Survival. But seaweed has an enormous amount of minerals and micronutrients and by 30 I would think that most educated Americans have at least heard about people eating seaweed. I am sure no one will remember this, since I read it while on Shelfari, but this is the same kind complaint I had with The Martian (which I rounded up to 5 stars and only had 2 complaints I deemed small) when Mark didn't plant legumes to help fix nitrogen into the soil and yet he knew so much other stuff about making viable soil. Plus it would have made his legumes last a very long time in theory.
