Hello all! Cecelia is currently away, but she is fine if we do stuff on the group:-)
Some of us thought it would be great to do a monthly read so suggest three CATHOLIC book you would like to read on the group. It can be fiction or non fiction, just Catholic.
Then there will be a poll made with all suggested books on the 28th of June.

I suggest:
1. Introduction to the devout life by St Francis de Sales.
2. Soldier of Christ: Talks before Confirmation (note I read this is not just good for before confirmation but also after:-))
3. The King of the Golden City by Mother Mary Loyola.

message 3: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 34 comments I think the second one?
But that’s just my opinion 😆

Dear, dear Max all fiction. Spiritual works are too deep for you I suppose?

message 8: by Maximilian (last edited Jun 24, 2021 02:31PM) (new)

Maximilian (hernancortes) | 167 comments No, they aren't. I have read Spiritual books as well as you, EliZabeth.

Really like what? Histoy and spiritual aren't the same things I would have you know.

message 10: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Faustina (ourladysthimble) I actually nominate the first two that Max said, since I have both. For a third one I suggest Mother Angelica's Answers, Not Promises.

Well we are just reading them together. So it could be books you want to read again, really like, or haven't read I think.

Elizabeth Faustina (ourladysthimble) That would be fun, but it's also hard for me to get my hands on new books.

Roland West, Loner by Theresa Linden (I don't really know if this is explicitly Catholic but it's written by a Catholic Author and there's mentionings of God. And I just really really really like this book. It made me cwyyyy. (okay now I feel like a baby)
Anyway:
Searching for and Maintaining Peace: A Small Treatise on Peace of Heart by Jacques Philippe (THIS BOOK IS LIFE-CHANGING!!

The World's First Love: Mary, Mother of God by Fulton J. Sheen (I haven't read this but really want to)(I've also heard that Fulton J Sheen is super great!) :)

I never find chances to go to my library, and I can't find things very well. I know some people are very good at finding books but I'm not. XD Ohh that's sad.

It would be better in some ways Lorretta to read a new book, but some times it can be a lot to buy a lot of new books, and at least my library has like no Catholic books:-)

Britain is primarily a protestant country now. There are very few Catholics.
