Let’s go!!🎉 we’re here for a brand new series readathon and this one is very different from any we’ve previously read for quite a few reasons:
- We’ve never read a contemporary series.
- It’s only 3 books long so it’s a pretty short series in comparison to all the other long series we have read.
- It focuses on realistic social issues.

I’m very intrigued by this book (and the series in general). I’ve seen some fabulous reviews and I know the first book won awards. I’m not a fan of contemporary books but I’m trying to not be cynical and I’m hoping to be wowed. Either way it’s going to be super interesting to see what social messages this book has to offer!

I think it is relatively good and worthy of the hype. This book even managed to make me a little weepy (view spoiler)
I also appreciated the social commentary of things I wasn't very aware of (90s Asian immigrant issues) (view spoiler)
