Sarah (sarahmott) | 469 comments I really didn’t think it was possible to screw up a book with nazis, time travel, and kids doing Kung Fu but here we are…

Cheryl | 1172 comments So it wasn’t just me who didn’t like the book. I even gave it a try a few weeks ago to see if I’d like it better this time, but I still didn’t.

I have read a few by Koontz that were much better than this one. The ones featuring the dogs with special powers, though, are just not for me.

Sarah (sarahmott) | 469 comments Do you mean the dog who could read minds with a monster following it or the one who was the stooge of the antichrist?

I was thinking of Watchers, but I’m not fond of any Koontz book with a dog in it. What’s the name of the book with the antichrist, by the way?

Sarah (sarahmott) | 469 comments That would be “Servants of the Twilight.” I picked it up at a grocery store checkout line because it had a cool cover. 😄 Interesting that all his dogs are Golden Retrievers…

message 7: by Jay (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jay | 18 comments The central mystery throughout the book was, How is this writer, Laura, significant to a bunch of time travelers? For what reason are people hunting her across time, even considering murdering her as an infant? Must be some pretty big reveal!

And the answer is that one of them "fell in love" with her? Ugh, what a gross let down. I was so bummed that she actually ended up with Stefan, too, a Nazi who stalked her in a time machine? Are we supposed to be happy for her?

Time travel and anything with Nazis are two plot points that usually make me avoid a book. This book had both, and I just couldn’t continue reading it.
