I've added it to my to-read list as I love a good dyspoia, but it will probably take me a long time to get to it as i have so many books to read!

I have just finished a short collection of Thomas Gray's poems, his life seems very interesting, he wrote beautiful letters to a younger man he fell in love with

☼ ☾♀ Lillian ♀☾☼ currently reading The Song of Achilles! 💘💘

message 29: by John (new)

John For a challenge at another group, I'm reading Justice for the Damned, mystery set in 12th century. Mentioning of here as there is a recurring gay character in the series; author does a realistic job with his feelings.

message 30: by Dave (new)

Dave | 2 comments Johann Hari, Chasing the Scream: the First and Last Days of the War on Drugs. It's a real eye-opener, since this war started pretty much the day after Prohibition was repealed because a government bureaucracy needed something to do.

I loved Anna Karenina, amazing!

message 32: by Nat (new)

Nat Gonzalez (natthewitch) | 5 comments I just started The Jasmine Throne and im about 1/3 of the way through it! It definitely doesn't have the tone I was expecting, but not in a bad way. I'm still having mixed feelings about it, but I'm excited to continue!

message 34: by John (new)

John The Strangler Vine, action/adventure tale (technically billed as a mystery) set in 1830s India (East India Company in charge at the time). Main characters "officially straight" but definitely a homoerotic tone. Presents the dark side of colonialism effectively, rather than a sledgehammer approach.

message 35: by Chris (new)

Chris | 16 comments Started reading The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, I have tried to read this a couple times before and always ended up stalling out in the first chapter or two... I am past that this time so I think I am locked in!
