How in the world are we supposed to choose?! They’re all so different and so good. I want at least 8 of them to win...I may have to just throw darts.

Such a tough choice! I think I can narrow it down to GWO and There There, but will need to think about it for another day or two.

How could it be polarizing? I think most of us would be happy to see any of these given a second chance. (I mean, I'd stick out my tongue if I saw Stephen Florida, which I'm guessing has a good zombie probability. But I respect people's opinion. Even if it's wrong, ha.)

I'm still debating between GWO, Milkman and Exit West, because they're the three that are still resonating inside me. (Although Idaho is on the fringes of my thoughts as well...I loved it while reading, but it was so complex that I don't remember enough about it.)

Milkman and Tsar were probably my top 2 but there are no books on this list that I actually dislike, just a few I haven’t read yet.

Another big Milkman fan here! The audio was fantastic.

I love (hate? feel passionately about?) Stephen Florida, but I agree that Milkman is certainly the best-of-the-best book on the list.

I had a hard time choosing between Stephen Florida, Milkman, and Tsar...but I had to go with Stephen.

I voted for Homegoing, mostly because it continues to stick with me long after reading it. My mother in law read it recently and we had a weird discussion where she didn't come away with most of the takeaways about race that I did.

It was frustrating and got me all riled up. I think I love it so much that when others don't see the beauty and powerfulness I don't know what to do with myself. Gyasi created that feeling in me, and that's kind of amazing.

I definitely need to read Stephen Florida again. It kind of slid past my eyeballs the first time.

Skippy voter over here. Maybe I'll need to revisit it soon, though.

The Animators got my vote; it's the book I most often think about years later. Version Control almost edged it out, though. There's no wrong choice here, that's for sure.

I voted! I never can decide during regular TOB because I haven't ever read enough to feel like I can honestly contribute. and I ALWAYS miss the deadline...

My library is pretty good about ordering books from small- and mid-sized presses and can be counted on to order 100% of the Coffee House books.

Wonderful! Libraries are my favorite.

I've got Everyone knows your mother is a witch on hold but I've been 3rd in line for 6 weeks now. Come on, people! Read the book and get it back already!! LOL

Milkman gets my vote!

I’m about halfway done with Tsar and loving it - will be my 10th book from the list. I was hoping to get through one more before voting, but don’t want to miss my chance!

Those were the two I went back and forth on, as well.

I struggled between Milkman and two others (which will remain unnamed because at least one was in my judge's matchup)

Milkman all the way for me, but I agree there's not a dud in this bunch. Just finished and loved Tsar and I only have Tale for the Time Being yet to read.
