Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 149 comments Hard to believe we are on the downhill side of the year! Y’all feeling good about your full year reading goals? We just made it through some HOT weather! The cooler temperatures are so much nicer.

Two goals for July are:
As Sure as the Dawn
The Apostles' Creed: Discovering Authentic Christianity in an Age of Counterfeits

How about you guys?

Beth Stel | 32 comments June seemed to fly by! I'm liking my goal much better now that I've readjusted it. Trying to tackle 104 books that only fit the prompts was too much; now, I have time to read books for other reasons too. I'm trying to stay abreast of what my kids are reading. Thankful for older cousins who are readers too and can pass on books to my kids. I know their moms have checked them out and they are appropriate so I don't have to proofread everything but I like to be at least familiar with the books too.
July's goals:
Finish:
David Copperfield
The Mysterious Benedict Society
Read:
The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz
Beach Music
Matilda
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
The Law of Innocence
Redwall
The Garden of Burning Sand
Not sure which ones will count for the challenge - David Copperfield and The Splendid and the Vile will for sure but I don't know about the rest.

Amber Thiessen (amber_thiessen) | 69 comments Hi Ladies!
June definitely flew by! Our family is enjoying a lot of time camping in the woods this summer, since my husband is on sabbatical. June reading has been slower with more activities on the go. For July I am continuing through the Institutes and Paul: A Biography - which has been going slower than I imagined. I’m working on (A)Typical Woman: Free, Whole, and Called in Christ and hope to get to Taming the Tongue: How the Gospel Transforms Our Talk and The Gospel Call and True Conversion and 12 Faithful Women: Portraits of Steadfast Endurance

Christabelle, I really enjoyed Al Mohlers book! It was such a great exposition in the apostles creed, I made a print that hangs in our living room now.

Beth I hope you enjoy the Splendid and the Vile, I thought it was really good. And I totally know what you mean about books not fitting into the challenge prompts, I try to challenge myself once and a while to pick up something on the list to expand my reading horizons, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. My goal for the challenge was 52, but my whole reading goal is usually higher.

Happy reading!

Stephanie Salyer | 8 comments July yay! I finally feel like I have free time to read. I usually tackle 6-8 books a month but the last few months finishing up the school year and moving it was really tough. My reading goals are tied between things I want to read and prereading historical fiction for next school year:
a year down yonder
a cabin faced west
the door in the wall
Mississippi bridge
Francine Rivers books: the warrior, the priest, the prince
and just to continue working through psalms Bible study commentary
