It's time to vote for a novel in our series group. We're going to change things up a bit, this poll will select the first book to read in a series, and it will be your choice to continue reading the series as you like. The discussion group will be set up for the complete series instead of each novel individually.

Here is the link to the poll.

And here are our selections:
1. Along Came a Spider by James Patterson 26 or more books with Alex Cross
2. The Giver by Lois Lowry 4 books
3. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer 4 books
4. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller 2 books
5. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain 4 books

Thank you for voting, have a great summer.

Haha, I'm kind of glad the Alex Cross series showed up in this poll.

I read Catch-22 some time ago, and liked it a lot. (I haven't tried reading the sequel, Closing Time.)
I have a copy of the graphic novel adaptation of The Giver that I've been meaning to read.
I'm pretty sure I've read Tom Sawyer, but it would have been a LONG time ago. I remember owning a copy when I was a little kid, and I'm pretty sure I read it. I'd like to read it again. (Or read it for the first time, if I'm misremembering...)

Parker | 61 comments I can't remember if I've read Closing Time or not.
Hated The Giver, although there was one book in the series that I enjoyed.
I've read almost everything Mark Twain wrote, and I've read both Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn several times. We own both books.
I've never read the others.

Looks like the The Giver has been selected. I don't think I've read it, if I remember right it was required reading when my sons were in school so I might have a copy. Tom Sawyer is the only one I have read, but I would be happy to read it again.

Heather L (wordtrix) I love The Giver. It’s one of those books you can devour in a day. I read the first three books in the series a few years back, but though I have the fourth book, I‘ve yet to get to it. I think I’m afraid of being let down. 🙄

I set up a topic for The Giver series here.
As Bridget mentioned, we're just setting up one topic for the whole series.

The last series we were reading, by the way, was the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. I just set up topics for the last two books in that series:
* A Feast for Crows - July/August 2021
* A Dance with Dragons - Sept/Oct 2021
There hasn't really been any discussion on those books, but I figured i might as well set up the topics for them in case anyone wanted to use them.
