I'm only a bit into the book and the writing style threw me off at first because it was a rather choppy and awkward in the beginning with its odd phrasings/descriptions. But the plot is very interesting which is why I'm still reading.

I really like the concept of Poly's hair having power. (The way it hugged Poly and Luck together was also really cute.) I also like that Luck seems to be (from what I gather from Poly's perspective and observations anyways) more aware and sharper than he gives off the impression of. So far there's also been parts of the book that made me laugh and the whole story (even the funny side scenes/plots) are quite original. I'm looking forward to reading more. :)

I just finished reading Spindle last night. I thought I was going to get it finished much earlier but kept getting sidetracked with other books. :P

My favorite aspect of the book would have to be the magic. Even though the magic system itself is pretty vague and I still don't really understand the "three types of magic" thing, I love the way Poly describes it and it's pretty interesting.

I also really liked the fact that Poly has glasses :P

Favorite character: Hmm, probably Poly? As far as secondary characters I liked Melchoir and Isabella. I didn't like Luck quite as much this time around, though, and I'm not really sure why.

Also, it was interesting reading this book after Howl's Moving Castle- I kept hearing the two compared and I can definitely see some similarities. So that was neat too :)

Ohh I’ve read Howl’s Moving Castle too. I can see why the two are at times compared. I think it’s the vibe that I get from the world that’s being created and that they both have magic with spells. That’s what I think anyways. I still like the anime movie of Howl’s Moving Castle the best though hehe.

The fact that Poly had glasses was cool! Thanks for bringing that up. :)
