Kaylee Merchan | 9 comments I’m looking for a book about a young married couple who goes broke and moves into a community where they have a house and go to work. But every so often they switch homes and new people move in while they work. One day this girl forgets something and has to go back home and she meets the guy who lives in her home while she’s away. She has a affair with him. Begins leaving him lipstick notes before the swap. Her husband finds these notes and begins to fall in love with this “mystery girl” who is actually his wife having an affair with the guy who lives in her apartment.

Rainbowheart | 28724 comments When did you read it?

Why were the characters switching homes?

Would you describe this as romance or erotica?

Kaylee Merchan | 9 comments I read it about 3-4 years ago.

Romance.

It was like for a certain amount of time they lived in the home but it was like they had to leave to go off and work or switch to a different house and when they would leave another couple would move in. They were not suppose to run into each other. But she had to go back home because she had forgotten something that’s when she realized the home was being used while they were away. It’s like the controller of the community has it clean and out how they left it before each different person goes and moves in on there times All this time she didn’t know.

Kaylee Merchan | 9 comments Once this girl and the guy she met my accident starts sleeping with each other. The day before she is suppose to leave the house for her time frame. She would leave behind red lipstick notes and stuff like that. While her boyfriend/husband found one of these notes he started falling in love of the idea of who this mystery girl may be not knowing it was his girl towards the end

Rainbowheart | 28724 comments Was it dystopian at all? Who was the controller of the community?

Did it seem like a future world?

message 6: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Merchan | 9 comments No it was kind of like a labyrinth-like development. In the beginning it talks about how they can’t afford the life they were living or having a hard time making ends meet. So it was in a newspaper or something where they find this community where they get housing and work.

Kaylee Merchan | 9 comments It doesn’t talk much about any controller. Just mostly about the couple and then her going home to find out other people living in her home while they are not there like when it wasn’t there turn to be there. These people were never meant to meet

Robert (ricroscupshigh) | 543 comments It sounds a bit like The Heart Goes Last, by Margaret Atwood?

"Living in their car, surviving on tips, Charmaine and Stan are in a desperate state. So, when they see an advertisement for Consilience, a ‘social experiment’ offering stable jobs and a home of their own, they sign up immediately. All they have to do in return for suburban paradise is give up their freedom every second month – swapping their home for a prison cell. At first, all is well. But then, unknown to each other, Stan and Charmaine develop passionate obsessions with their ‘Alternates,’ the couple that occupies their house when they are in prison. Soon the pressures of conformity, mistrust, guilt and sexual desire begin to take over"
