Lizziefaye's Comfy Corner discussion

I forgot that I hadn't added a thread yet for the final few chapters. I finished this morning and am very intrigued to keep reading the series.
I liked that the kids ended up wanting to keep their exceptionalities and that other kids were found with similar traits. I'm wondering if they will need to work together or band together in the 2nd and 3rd books to combat the forces at work.

Review: 5 stars

Foreshadows of what is going on in the world now, but a different form. Three twelve-year olds have cause to feel they are different. The world is challenged with fast-growing plant life from an unknown source. Themes of friendship, slights of the past healed, family strength, and dealing with what sets us apart and brings us together are at the core of this fast-paced, well-written middle-grade science fiction. A one-line cliff-hanger at the end puts this book in the company of the sci-fi greats and carries this existential plotline forward in the series.

Overall, I found this book to be enjoyable and I am curious about the next one. I would have liked more explanation on why that one patch of soil was so deadly to the plants. I am glad that for the most part the kids are embracing there uniqueness, though Petra isn't real ssd'sur of it. Also glad there was other kids popping up with the same traits around the world. I would give this book 4 stars.
